Funny Discard Deck

[card]Abyssien, the devourer[/card]
[card]Salem[/card]
[card]Oogoe Kage[/card] (Zil version)

3x [card]Panic[/card]
2x [card]Treacherous[/card]
1x [card]Mental Syphon[/card]
2x [card]Theft[/card]
2x [card]Contortion[/card]
2x [card]Look Away[/card]
1x [card]Ventriloquism[/card]
1x [card]Tadaa! You're a bunny![/card]
1x [card]Watcher[/card]
3x [card]Vanish[/card]
1x [card]Anathematize[/card]
1x [card]Magic Shield[/card]

I really hate circus discard decks, but I tried it because I really don't want to say harsh opinion about something I've never tried. This is my discard deck with my own taste.

General Strategy
Everybody know Panic, Treacherous, Theft and Mental Syphon able to suck your deck dry and you will be stand there, lost, and feel despair and seek justice.
Abyssien can chain Panic and Mental Syphon and able to use also Treacherous, and he is a thougth bastard who able to heal up to 4 point.
Salem has a good turn bonus what lower your attack, can chain Panic and able to use theft.
The new flavour in this deck is Oogoe Kage the Crow Warrior. He is a Courtisan and also a Zil Warrior so you can use in this deck. He can use Treacherous but his only purpose in this deck is to survive. With the help of Vanish he is very good in it.
So just suck dry the deck and hand of the opponent and be aware to Oogoe survive.

Tips and tricks
Be aware of one hit kills, but doesn't use Vanish in the first 3 rounds, you want the enemy focus on Abyssien and Salem, and after they do their job the opponent will be almost helpless against your 3-4 Vanish turn.

Utility cards
Tadaa! You're a bunny! is a very good defensive card against hard hitters, mainly you'll use it to save Oogoe in his first or second battle but it will help for the others too, because you need 1-3 turn with both Abyssien and Salem to discard the enemy deck.

Contortion is a good card because it can help your Circus characters to survive, and have the potential to discard a card, a really painful card from your opponent deck or hand.

Ventriloquism has too purpose. Firstly it helps to regain your discard and some of the defensive cards, what gives you a small chance against distasteful opponents like new Dragon Knight [card]Arkalon[/card], Nomad priests with [card]Solar Plastron[/card], or anybody use the [card]A New Start[/card]. Secondary it is able to help in the discard russian roulette against other discard deck.

Watcher is a good versatile card. You can use it in chain before Vanish and you can regain Vanish, Treacherous, Theft, Contortion and your defensive cards, depends on situation.

Anathematize a must have, doesn't because [card]Weapons at will[/card] or [card]Items have a soul[/card], you make joke from those cards with Vanish. In the middle of the game use it, preferably after used up all Panic. It useful against the other discard decks, and against anybody who able to return cards from discard deck to hand or deck. One time I won with this card because I used this just before the enemy wanted to use Hungry void to activate A New Start again. I was very lucky and my timing was awesome.

Magic Shield helps against mages, and it can save your ass if the enemy wanted to use area spell. I mainly use it with Oogoe if I dont have Vanish in my hand against mages, or with the other if I think the enemy want to kill Oogoe with an area damage spell.

Weaknesses, or how to beat this.
The nemesis of discard decks is A New Start or any little brother effects of it. This version also have this weakness, and this is why pure discard decks can't hit the top ELO.

Decks what have high chance on one hit kills are also dangerous (like Zil Maraduers, The Pack, some Crow decks, Trackers and brutal Noz Mages). You have difficulties if Abyssien or Salem dies in their first battle, and you technically lose if Oogoe is killed. Use your defensive cards to prevent this.

Before Abyssien and Salem dies you need to discard the enemy, except he is stupid and use his cards on you Vanished Oogoe. Oogoe is only able to use Treacherous so if you need sacrifice your other chars but discard the enemy.

Indirect hitters and area damagers are also dangerous. Oogoe usually have enough health to survive if he is at full hit points, but the best tactics against indirect hitters to doesn't use Vanish too early so when they realize the potential danger it's too late because only Oogoe is alive and they don't have enough cards.

Vanish has some weakness too. First is if the enemy is smart enough he won't waste cards against Oogoe. Second weakness is Vanish only dismiss damage dealt on the user, so the AoE damages effect on other characters, indirect hits also. Third weakness is Vanish only effect after activated so if the enemy deal damage before you use it, that counts (for examle [card]Static charge[/card], [card]Conquer or Perish[/card], any damage spell). The last weakness is [card]Obesity[/card], what just counter it. So analyze the situation and think about twice to use something before Vanish in chain and try to use Oogoe when you have the initiate and you cards activate before the opponents.

Epilouge
It was funny for 1-2 days, but after I upgraded all the chars from level 1 to max I bored it to hell. Discard decks tactics doesn't need to much brain, it's much easier to count how many card the opponent have than analyze how can you kill the opponent before he finish you, or how can do more points than him, or which combination gives you the best result in a situation.

Not entirely.  From a Magic standpoint, Aggro decks (analyzing how to kill your opponent before he kills you, as you put it.) are easier to play than Circus, which translates to a control-mill style of playing.  On the surface it might seem like an easy deck to win with and a cheap way at that, but it's a little harder to play than 'Buff my character, buff my character.....  Crap, didn't kill him yet.'

But that's just my opinion.

The deck just.....  Not good IMO.  But, since you don't like discard anyways, I won't bother suggesting anything to you.  After all, this is a 'funny deck' to you.

Sorry if I expressed myself misleading, but I'm not a native English speaker.

I used the "funny" because it was funny to play with this deck, but after around 100-150 match I definitely bore it I didn't find intention to improve it, so I shared it.

I never said this is a good deck, but what do you wait from 30-50k crystal (or much less if you exchange bunny for Fallback). I stopped around 1650 ELO point with it after that my win rate reduced to 50%.

I would never shared this deck if I thought it is a boring cheater and otherwise weak deck. I did it because maybe I can give funny experiences for players who don't have millions of crystals.

In tactical card games I usually like versatile decks what have several combinations in it and you need to thinking. You are right in Eredan there are much simplier decks than discard what wins with brute character force (like most Kotoba uberbrutal defense decks) or built on one card combination what usually kill the opponent (like items have a soul), but the metagame of discard decks I and my brother saw or uses are too simple and straighforward for my taste, but worth enough to experience it.

So please share your thoughts I would like to hear you opinions about the pro and cons this deck and maybe you can suggest some improvements what dodged my mind. smile

In that case, drop Oogoe Kage and Vanish.  He's not worth it just for that card.

Watcher and Magic Shield are also not so good.  There aren't too many cards in this deck I'd want to waste a play bringing back to my hand.

Since Salem's the only Marauder, 2 Thefts might be too many...

So, we have:
-1 Oogoe Kage

-3 Vanish
-1 Watcher
-1 Magic Shield
-1 Theft

In place of Oogoe Kage, The Psychurgist is just miles better.  His order mills, and because it's turn 1 and 4, you have the ability to at least hit it once.  Plus he can play Blackmail, a good discard spell (with recursion and deck filling if you play it with Psychurgist.)  And since he's a mental Guemelite, he can play Mental Syphon.  His downside is that he lowers spirit, so Treacherous is less effective.

Kriss is a really good addition too.  I like him because he can play Theft like Salem can.  Hell, he can chain Blackmail into Theft (Blackmail has a natural chain to it, not the Thuregy chain that all pure Priests have.)  The only downside to him is he doesn't have Psychurgist's order bonus.

Ass for the other cards, another Look Away is needed.  It offers a chain and always needed attack manipulation.  Another Ventriloquism also helps against the mirror-match and it allows you to sift a bit more to get a better hand.  Another Tadaa! is also great if you have the money (If not Fallback is nice.)

Speaking of Fallback, it's actually better to play that against Quick Strike Sap Heart decks, so maybe a one-of Fallback is nice.

If you add a Preist, add Blackmails.  2 of them if you chose Kriss and 3-of if you chose Psychurgist.

So:

+1 The Psychurgist (or Kriss)

+1 Look Away
+1 Ventriloquism
+1 Tadaa! (or Fallback)

If Kriss:
+2 Blackmail
+1 Fallback

If Psychurgist:
+3 Blackmail

I hope this helps.  This is just how I play my Circus deck, though.  there's tons of different ways to do it.  If you can afford The Prestige or A New Start, by all means put them in, but I know not everyone can.

Re : Funny Discard Deck

When I said Im curious I meant about the main concept with these three character.

I saw tons of time your deck, it is more powerful, more effective, but tons of people don't have hundred thousands of crystal because they don't waste that much of free time or money in this game.

I would like to edit the topic name to Cheap and Funny Discard Deck but I can't. (I mean below 50k)

Otherwise how effective your deck in ELO? Don't get as offense, Im just curious how strong a powerful discard deck.

I've gotten about 1700 so far.

The deck really isn't that expensive if you want to do well in ELO.  You can get it together (Under the assumption you're using Fallout's instead of Tadaa!'s) for around 60K+

I can't think of a cheaper, more efficient ELO deck.
