Just noticed that the bonus from the rods isn't being applied to static shock on the subsequent turns. The initial cast yes, but not after.
The thing is, using a Mages staff does give it a bonus (as far, yet again, as I can tell)
Either
1) The next turn damage isn't considered lightning damage, only spell damage. If this is the case, there needs to be a distinction on the card;s description. Currently, it's all called magic damage, and one is to assume the bonus from the initial cast carries over.
2) Theres a real bug, where the second magic damage isn;t being considered.
If there were no luck in TCG, how boring would that be?

[card]lightning rod[/card] says
+1 ... the moment this card is played.
when a permanent like [card]static charge[/card] was played, it activates again, but isnt played anymore.

"This card" is actually aimed at the lightning rod, not the spells, unless the translations a wee bit off. If that's the case, then sobeit.
Also, Card image does not say the same thing card in game does. No "at this moment" on forum image.
It means that it activates immediately, so say something like Sky inhabitant can get the +1 spell damage immediately, if it is activated (your turn, you play Sky inhab then lightning rod, opponent plays two cards. First card gets normal sky inhab damage, second card gets +2 from the rod)
Also:
Just had this happen:
[card]Lightning beak[/card] vs. Lucian on turn 5, Mylad dead, so only 1 spi on beak, 0 on lucian. Two lightning rods equipped to him
Good tester.
Beak reactivates charge for his order bonus, gets 3 damage off. Which should happen.
The second one, the card activation on the turn, gets 1 damage off, so no bonus application.
This would go with what you said Aigle, but if thats the case, [card]Lightning rod[/card] needs to be reworded.
Shouldn't be "the moment this card is played". Language directs it to THIS card = Lightning rod.
Should be "The moment any lightning spell card is activated". Directs the language to the spell. Also indicates non-activated cards (i.e. Shock) don't gain the benefit.
As it stands now, the rod is +1 to lightning damage, activated immediately. Unless shocks secondary damage isn't lightning, it should gain the effect as well. But it needs clarification on the card if its plain magic damage. If it's what's mentioned above, the rod card needs different wording. If it's neither, then the secondary damage isn't being flagged correctly.

Wanting to simplify and clarify stuff can lead me to forget some crucial words at times, like this card for example.

This is a more literal translation:
All your Pirate Mages gain +1 to Lightning Spell damage during the Turn on which they are activated.
Chain.
Not an easy one to word correctly or simplify to make it understandable, let me know if you have suggestions.

Why you get the + 1 for [card]Sky Inhabitant[/card] in the second round?
It re-activates? :S
the mechanics are wierd I agree....there's no continuity to it, it seems.
That makes more sense Dante. Agreed it's more unwieldy, but it at least makes sense why it wasn't adding on shock
Maybe get rid of the "during the turn" and just go "All your Pirate Mages gain +1 to Lightning Spell damage when they are activated."

"All your Pirate Mages gain +1 to Lightning Spell damage the turn they are activated."
Beak's card explains nicely that he re-activates shock. Should cover it all.

Actually, nothing enhance the effects of AoE spells (event it is not marked on the card lightning rod).
The staff said somewhere on the French part that they discuss to know if lightning rod works properly and the text should be changed or if this is a bug and will be corrected.

AOE never got magic effect bonuses.
[card]Win Using Magic[/card], [card]Mage's Grand Staff[/card], [card]Magic Amplification[/card], etc.
Lightning chain, for two days when it was released, wasn't classified as AOE and it wrecked everything. Imagine Bragan with a a staff on him, a few rods out, and then used win using magic -> Lightning chain. Basically it was Last Word -> Void -> LB3 with no rares/legendaires and could be used 3 times...it was a mess. That doesn't bug me.
What bugs me is this inconsistency that's happening that got me confused in the first place on the language of shock+rod.
Sky Inhabitant gets the rod bonus on turn 2 of its existence, Static shock doesn't. Both aren't activated at that time, they're just in play. (Correct me if I'm wrong on Sky Inhabitant, I've been counting dmg and it seems to be applying)
Static Shock gets Mage's Staff bonus though on turn 2. Magic Amp as well.
