About Eredan Wiki

It sucks. Plain and simple. I was browsing http://wiki.eredan.com/index.php?title= … ical_Guide when I realized a trend; "Heres what we want you to play." Over half of what I read was nonsense. While stated very simply it shelters a new player rather than pushing them foward.

When you go to a wiki for an answer you expect to find one.

Question, taken from the English Deck Garage:
Why doesnt Splinter of the World Tree effect magic Poison.
Wiki: Splinter of the world tree is a key card in most sap decks. Well first off it shouldn't be in any deck unless it is a filler or being leveled.

My biggest gripe with the Wiki is players cannot edit it. In my opinion if you took the staff from the wiki, which hasnt updated courts or pirates with the same mundane do this do that don't use your creativity survival guide, and put them to work fixing bugs, improving game mechanics, and more card testing to prevent bugs you would have a btter overall product. I can with almost 100% certainty guarantee for a better Wiki, and a bonus of a better game.

I have yet to see a Wiki ran by players fail. The few that may have probably did not have as good a game as Eredan is.

Players can edit the wiki but they have to register first.

Regist link

Then, if you want you can change the language in the preferences.

Actually, most of the wiki was written by players and not Feerik staff. The big problem is that most of us people who don't speak French at first don't have any idea of how to edit it. That's why it has so little updates.

Re : About Eredan Wiki

Well as soon as you ventured into the realm of dealing with other languages you ventured into having to offer them the same things as your home country.

I'll google translate that link n see what I can do. Hopefully more members will now that we know we can edit. With any luck we can get it cleaned up.

Wiki has always been a community effort. If you feel that you have something to contribute, why not register and edit the Wiki? Or put your input into the discussion sticky in the Discussion forum.

Re : About Eredan Wiki

I'm a bit lost on what's the problem here...

I see this:

I have yet to see a Wiki ran by players fail. The few that may have probably did not have as good a game as Eredan is.

The wiki itself is player run. There have been a lot of people working on it on and off. Staff has had nothing to do with it. So if you think it's failing, it's the players fault/fail.

But then, I see this:

Well as soon as you ventured into the realm of dealing with other languages you ventured into having to offer them the same things as your home country.

Which confuses me, because I thought the gripe was that the wiki should be staff hands off, and this sounds like you expect the staff to be hands on. I'm not trying to gripe on petty details but I'm really not sure what the issue is, since this seems like a eat cake and have it too situation :S

If its about the french welcome page, its a program issue that they've already talked about. The wiki they use doesn't support multi-lingual registration, but the english option is there one you do register. Theres a walkthrough I believe to make it english if you don't use chrome in the wiki sticky in discussions.

Plus I'm pretty sure travian has taken over english publishing, they'd be the ones to complain to about making a proper english wiki (the one on the french wiki was just added originally for the few first english players to tinker with, but it never took off untill lately), not the fereek staff. Game creation =! Publishing.

If there were no luck in TCG, how boring would that be?
