Tournament : Beta 2

A brand new version of the Tournament module is now available!

The Arena of the Border
- Each hour and lasts an hour.
- Announced an hour in advance.
- Tournament extended without restriction.
- Registration costs 500 Crystals.
- Deck isn't limited: you may change Deck or modify it during the Tournament.
- 5 people minimum in order to start the Tournament.
- Ratings via the Elo system (Does not count for the Amnezy Tournament).
- Rewards : 1st : 30% of the total pot. 2nd : 20% of the total pot. 3rd : 10% of the total pot. All players in the first third of the ratings will share 25% of the total pot.

The Challenges of the Council
- Each hour and lasts an hour.
- Announced two hours in advance.
- For each Tournament, the challenge concerns a specific guild. This affiliation changes each time.
- Restricted Tournament: Deck contains 3 characters affiliated to a guild in relation to the challenge.
- Registration 500 Crystals.
- Deck isn't limited: you may change Deck or modify it during the Tournament.
- 5 people minimum in order to start the Tournament.
- Ratings via the Elo system (Does not count for the Amnezy Tournament).
- Rewards : 1st : 30% of the total pot. 2nd : 20% of the total pot. 3rd : 10% of the total pot. All players in the first third of the ratings will share 25% of the total pot.

EDIT: A FEW MORE DETAILS CONCERNING THE TOURNAMENT

- Tournaments start everyday at 13.00 until in 10.00 in the morning (french time)

- Every hour, an unrestricted Tournament starts

- Every two hours, a Tournament limited to guilds starts (having three characters from a same guild, courtesans are included)

- Tournaments cost 500 crystals each (price could change in the future)

- Tournament uses Elo ratings, but does not influence the Elo Amnezy

Event of the Week

A new trophy is available until Thursday the 28th of April 2011 at 9.00 (French time).
You are limited in time so do not wait too long.

Play 15 games during which you must play the same card 5 times. You will win the Hitting the Mark card and the Harpooner title.

Hitting the Mark : Action. Unique. Collector. If either player has no cards in their deck at the end of the Turn, 5 cards are randomly selected from their own Discard Pile and placed to their respective Decks. This card, and all other cards remaining in the discard piles are removed from the game. Permanent.

what do you mean during which must play cards 5 times?
is that means i have to play same cards 5 times/game or only 5 times in 15 games???

the tournament scared the S*** out of me. i saw deck's that just one card was more expensive than my whole deck .

The winner gets 30%, 2nd place 20%, 3rd place 10% = 60% in total.

Since during the tournament some crystals are going to be generated ... with each tournament ~20% of the crystals from the registrations are going to get removed from the game.

Yep your calculation it's right, clearly smart move of designers

I see that the last Trophy cards was too much dependent of the situation, what happend if you draw this card at first hand?... throw it to discard pile losing a slot of your deck. Personally I will not play this card.

Shurikens and New start will be in the plot

this is one way to reduce the crystal in play... since we already have daily crystal...

I'd go even further ... ATM there are at least 150 people registering for each tournament.
500 * 150 = 75 000.
30% from 75 000 = 22 500 ...

They could give a choice to give up those crystals for 1-2 basic booster(s) (the one with 4 cards in it) -> More cards and less crystals in the economy.

Even if they give out 3 boosters for the winner and respectivly 2 and 1 for the 2nd and 3rd place they will (the players) benefit from it in the beginning (if they have the luck to get cards that worth 7k+ per booster) but in the long run the prices of the cards are going to get down so ... there are no cons in this ...

And lets face it ... 20k for a booster is a reasonable prize.
There are 7 days per week. Let say that a normal player .. (not so normal ..) plays 6 days per week, 5 hours per day.
That's 30 hours per week.
If one match lasts ~5 minutes you can play 12 matches per hour or 360 matches per week.
You'd need to make a ratio of perfect to wins to loses 1:2:0 (4 perfects, 8 normal wins and 0 loses per hour) to be able to buy 4 cards per week ...

Actually ... it's even better for greedy people. Sell your cards now and the value of your crystals will raise without you doing a thing (in deflation that is). The more cards/crystals you have before the deflation ... well it's better for you ... so I'd assume greedy people with the right information and capital would want this ...

Gah I totally missed the other 25% (the last part ...) ... still it's more like 5-10% because during the tournaments, the players gain crystals from the matches.

When exactly do the tourney pay outs actually go into your funds? It seems they are severely delayed or you forgot to mention they are not given out right away.
