-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are a few subjects you can reflect upon in answering in this discussion, but are not limited to as well:
* What are the gameplay styles used by the guild predominantly?
* Do you play this guild? If so, what decks?
* Are zil competitive in ELO? If yes, how far up the ladder, and with whom?
* Are there different points (art, music, gameplay) that are positive to your reception of playing this guild?
* Are there negative points that retract from your gameplay?
* Finally, which, of all the decks, do you find the best gameplay style in the zil?
Don't be hesitant in writing long responses. Detailed posts are very welcomed by the staff.
Thanks again for your time!

What are the gameplay styles used by the guild predominantly?
Usually strike fast, strike hard... Lots of birthday surprises for both you and your opponent. Sometimes the deck itself will give you a heart attack. I find most of the Zil characters quite expandable. Some of the characters have very decent and fair stats.
Do you play this guild? If so, what decks?
I play a Zil Pack deck. Somehow i find the caste performing slightly below average most of the time. Gameplay rely a lot on Fernath. A very unforgiving deck to start with. Fares very poor against standard Sword ROD witchblades, crow toutsai hybrid, Ishaia and her dear frozen friends behind ice walls. Occasional wins against quick draws and eclipse after the release of "the untouchable". Decent as a casual play deck.
Are zil competitive in ELO? If yes, how far up the ladder, and with whom?
Never made it up over 1600 elo with The Pack. Fernath, Bloodsword & Faceless. Either the pack sucked or i myself is a sucky player. Argh!
Are there different points (art, music, gameplay) that are positive to your reception of playing this guild?
Most of the art are decent.
Are there negative points that retract from your gameplay?
Rely a lot on luck... Owh that dance with the volks!!! Not inflicting damage on a 1 armor opponent again!!!. Unforgiving to play with. I somehow find the caste (The Pack) incomplete. Decent as a casual play deck against friends, not as a Elo room deck.
Finally, which, of all the decks, do you find the best gameplay style in the zil?
Can't really answer this. Yet to try the discard deck and big 3.

Having courage doesn't mean fearless, rather having fear but facing it.

* What are the gameplay styles used by the guild predominantly?
making sure your character is dead in one shot or it discards you to death with circus
* Do you play this guild? If so, what decks?
Yes i have a pack and the ever irritating circus discard deck.
* Are zil competitive in ELO? If yes, how far up the ladder, and with whom?
Yes can be mostly seen near elo 1800-1900 because of the discard and high damaging abom deck
but discard is the most common
* Are there different points (art, music, gameplay) that are positive to your reception of playing this guild?
The discard strategy and fast kill gameplay
* Are there negative points that retract from your gameplay?
The discard deck is powerful but a boring way to play
* Finally, which, of all the decks, do you find the best gameplay style in the zil?
Discard is powerful but boring and high damaging builds for example abom and pack

Zil's been my mainstay since day one that I played this game. I still have the original deck in my decklist. It's never been deleted, or renamed (before localization came around, so its in french too), or reset. The deck nearly has 2000 games recorded on it, and thats not including the training room games or anything.
To me, the Zil have always been about all out offense without any regard for thier own welfare. Hurt them more than they hurt you, even if it means sacrificing your own team members to do so. Circus does still follow this mentality to some extent, even if its hurting your draw deck instead of hit points. The aim is to be smart in the management of the damage you dole out, such that you always outdo what your opponent does to you.
With that in mind, there's two gamestyles that are persistent throughout each Zil deck. Beatdown and Diversion decks.
Beatdown is simple. You take three marauders/warriors, stack the most efficient cards that give you the most damage dealing potential, and start wailing away untill nothing's left besides a bloody pulp of your opponent. There are really two high end options for this with the Pack and Zil Aggro (Tel/Abom/Shadow), but just about every character in the zil guild can be intertwined and work well.
Diversion is a bit shadier. Stealing, thieving, anything to throw your opponent off from doing what they intended to do. This was a sub-theme of Zil untill the discard/mill decks became predominant, but there were cards that allowed you to keep your opponent off balance in ways that weren't dictated by the normal "you play cards that beat me up, I play cards that beat you up" mentality. Circus though, brought it to a whole new level. The new Abysien alone makes your opponent contemplate how to play their cards in order to minimize the healing he does, but the whole deck gives people fits because its a different playstyle, with different goals, and cut and paste gameplay doesn't work. Discard is far from invincible, but it requires thinking out of the box to beat.
Myself, I play both Aggro and Circus a lot. More Aggro lately than anything though, if for no other reason it's been abandoned for Circus by many for no good reason whatsoever. ELO wise, both can easily reach 1800, and can come much higher than that if I had the patience and the time to play more, and this is without any legendaries in either deck. They are definitely some of the strongest decks, but like most others, they do have their weaknesses that make them normal.
The music is creepy and fitting for the zil. So is most of the art, even though looking at some of the newer characters lately, the art team has been making leaps and bounds in getting better over the year, so new Zil art could be even better.
Negatively, there isn't much to say for the guild. But considering the main three decks, there are two weakish points that stand out:
1) The pack rely too heavily on Fenrath. Take him out fast and quick, the lynchpin falls out and the deck fails. This is why it's stuck at 1650ish for ELO. Most hard hitters can eliminate any threat quickly by getting rid of Fen. The deck relies on staying alive past 4 rounds in order to use the damage bonuses, but considering that the bonuses need an extra round to play versus an Aggro deck, and the pack is much more fragile than shadow/abom, it doesn't add up.
2) Kriss is pointless. He has one possible two card combo in a Mill deck: Look away and one of two discard cards. Have no Look aways, hes in deep crap. There's so much possibility to utilize his priest multiclass, or to strengthen the marauder aspect, but there aren't any cards in circulation right now to do that.
If there were no luck in TCG, how boring would that be?

* What are the gameplay styles used by the guild predominantly?
Other than Circus/Discard Zil is an aggro deck. Pure aggro is always tough to beat but is generally boring to play imo. It takes little to no strategy to fire a glass cannon.
* Do you play this guild? If so, what decks?
No. When playing against them I fight the same 3 decks and again becomes relatively boring. With the deck I play only discard poses a problem. Then again my deck is built to outlast most onslaughts, to include Zil.
* Are zil competitive in ELO? If yes, how far up the ladder, and with whom?
Yes. Mainly marauder beatdowns with some antimeta. Discard really doesnt rely on a full cast of zil. Discard can get you pretty high but its depth is determined by your budget.
* Are there different points (art, music, gameplay) that are positive to your reception of playing this guild?
No. Nothing about the Zil appeals to me. They are a simple and expensive guild. Quite uninteresting imo.
* Are there negative points that retract from your gameplay?
Lack of creativity when deck building. You can't really go to far off the path of another player with Zils. This is due lack of options and versatility when deck buildin. Golemarlok offers some versatility but can be very tricky when drawing if not built right, and then it comes to late or not at all and its useless. There is a sever lack of useful chars. You will only ever see the same Pack members(rarely Dark), Marauder variants include the same 4-5 chars. Dreadfully dull.
* Finally, which, of all the decks, do you find the best gameplay style in the zil?
Aggro will always be a staple deck in ne tcg. Eredan is no different. Discard is only hot right now because ANS is so expensive and there are to few other options.
