marketplace crashing

when I get into the marketplace, it crashes the plug-in, probably because the computer could be slow or because chrome has some issues

i guess it has to do either/both with the images and players roaming and buying stuff because in the "my collection" option, when you get into the collection "fallen from the sky" it doesn't happen and there's virtually the same amount of cards

but in fact i gess we could have a "list" option that, instead of giving all the cards and pictures of cards at once, gives a list of available cards and, especially if you're new, a "show pictures" option

thanks

Re : marketplace crashing

Exactly same thing happens to me ,and heard more and more people complaining about it. And it will get worse as more cards will be added.
Marketplace, as it is created uses computer resources like mad, traking all those changes in buying and selling. I can still sometimes use on times then player number are low (night or morning in french time) but trying to log on into marketplace during high hours (eventing in french time) is imposible, it just crashes flash.

Re : marketplace crashing

Moved to suggestions.
Also, we are looking into ways to get better performances for the market.
The market gets eventually hard to reach on the Wednesday and Thursday releases, as a lot more players are trying to buy and sell cards.

Re : marketplace crashing

I'm not a programer, but it seems problem is in market tracking all the cards at the same time time, and updating prices every few moments. Its a great system, but it eats resources like hell, and with more cards coming, and more transactions being made it will eat even more resouces.
maybe solution could be market only tracking card prices on the moment you open one or another page. Or making marketplace not a pop up in same page, going at the same time with music, facebook friend tracer and like that alkso eats resources, but separate page.
You can just steal ideas from ***bip***, they have more cards in market, and make lots more transactions, but their system never gets stuck.

Re : marketplace crashing

I suggested taking out the live update feed while your searching. just load each page as you scroll threw the pages.

Re : marketplace crashing

i have an idea ( well more like an idea in porgess ) how about slipting the market up between players and the store. we could buy or sell with other players or sell straight to the store and and buy from a per-set selection of cards for a set price. maybe that will thin out the market and help speed it up.

Re : marketplace crashing

Market optimisation is planned on a mid-term basis.
The optimisation should be beyond anything you've seen before smile
