Well I just bought myself a new pirate deck, and so far, it's going downhill...
The question I have is why my pistoblaes are only giving my Captain +1 attack, not +3. Captian has 2 powder token already, so whats the problem?

The special +2 effect given by those blades is activated before battles. So the bonus damage would be added the following turn.

Exception is if you use a card like 'In the nick of time' or level 3 Clover, which activate teh card immediately, which gives you the +2 bonus from powder tokens immediately.

There's nothing wrong with the card, it really does only add a permanent + 1 attack.

But if you keep reading the card you will find it will adds +2 at the start of the battle (when each player has chosen the cards they want to play), much like how master craftsman works really. The effect only works if you had at least one powder token before the battle start, even if you have 2 pistols equipped the effect still kicks in, which is odd

Clover only makes any powder weapons activate immediately, if you equip pistol on the captain he will immediately get +3 attack assuming she had at least one powder.

to simplify, pistolblades grant +1 permanent and the additional +2 is only granted at the beginning of each fight provided you have powder tokens. no powder tokens = no +2 bonus.
