There needs to be some way to adjust the ridiculous number of people who are doing nothing but inflating their ego in the level-up rooms. There should be no reason that decks that are fully leveled, down to the last card, should be in the level-up rooms. Simply put, they are just in there because they want to win against poor decks/players.
If indeed a deck is fully leveled, the player should not be rewarded with crystals and/or XP for beating someone who is working on improving their deck. If they want to earn cash and XP, they should have to do it in the ELO room - you get more there anyhow.
I understand that sometimes people may want to "test" their decks, but in that case, they should not be rewarded if they aren't gaining anything by being there. There are far too many people in the level-up rooms who have nothing to gain, and not nearly enough in the ELO rooms for those who want to play against people.
My suggestion is one of two options:
1. If a deck contains max level cards only, or cards that are completely full on XP (for cards that perhaps you want to keep at a lower level), those players should not earn any XP or crystals. This will drive those players who actually want to earn more to the ELO rooms to create a more competitive environment for the higher end players. This option would only apply after level 11, the last breaking point for rooms.
2. Give players the option of either not playing against, or leaving fights with fully leveled decks BEFORE a game starts. That allows the players who are trying to level up cards and characters a chance to compete at a reasonable pace by not having to play against obvious mismatches (ie; Lvl 1 characters vs Lvl 4 characters) in the level up room. Also, this reinforces moving to the ELO room for fully leveled decks, as it would get boring not playing against anyone who opts out of playing you all day.
I suggest these options both as someone who wants to level up cards at a reasonable pace AND as someone who wants to see more competition in the ELO rooms.

The only decks that don't belong in the level room are as follows.
Maxed Kot Warriors to include the 20 card deck.
Maxed Courts to include the 20 card deck
Maxed Noz Mages(any version) to include 20 card deck.
*Note: All these decks can be in thier with max chars with limited decks or leveling cards(ie katana to speech or fireballs)
At any rate not all maxed decks hold any weight in the elo rooms. Why should I run my Trackers or Pack in elo when they are significantly weaker to a lot of decks in thier? The above decks are the only 'maxed' decks in level rooms that really bother me as they have no use for 'testing' or 'feeling out' or 'getting comfortable with' excuses.
However, on the same note max characters mean nothing except a faster way to level cards in your deck. If I want to make a cloning why should I dumb down my deck to give you a better chance?
IMO find friends and learn to evo or adapt and overcome.
Maybe I'm selfish but I am working on my cards not yours. So I intend to win whether I am leveling a character by putting them with max chars or I am leveling cards by putting them in a deck that can win more often than no tto speed up the process.
tldr: this issue is overkill ne ways dont read this lol

Going to have to side with Glasher on this. I generally one one of the 3 Sap Heart decks. (lately its been the sap heart mages) None of the Sap heart deck for one are good enough to dominate in the Elo rooms so its kind of a waste to play there. Also, I like many others are trying to earn trophies and what better way to ensure trophy points than with a deck that will actually win. Ive been playing this game for months and have still yet to defeat 50 merc decks. 2 to go but 2 can be weeks before i even get a merc deck match-up. I think people should stop complaining about the "max level" decks and focus on their own decks. After all, how many could you possibly be running into back to back unless there aren't many people playing at the time in general.
Don't go into the jungle dressed like a banana if you don't like monkeys!

Just deal with it, I suffered some loses when I was leveling my low-level pirates, I lost some win rates because I played them.
Like glasher said I play with full leveled chars only just to level powder keg, expert craftsman, etc. just to upgrade my card and get my win rates back that I lost but sometimes I babysit low level card with fully leveled card to level it faster, is that so wrong man? O.o

The funny thing here is that you all said you were leveling cards. I have no problem with that at all, in fact, I too level cards with max characters.
@Glasher - You want to dominate in the ELO room, that's fine, but why even bother wasting your time playing your Tracker or Pack deck? You completely illustrated my point that people who play "maxed" decks are just in their to stroke their ego. If you are concerned with being competitive, then you wouldn't even play 2nd Tier decks. But obviously you do, and thus you aren't being duplicitous in your statement. The level-up room should not be a place to "slum it" with decks that are maxed out, but not able to compete in the ELO rooms. Build better decks.
@Erezil - I concede that seeking trophies is problematic for the suggestion I gave, as I want to get them done in a timely manner as well. That's why it was a suggestion, something to be tweaked, I guess.
@jspruill - Yeah, I guess quitting is an option, but it frustrates me when people do that to me, so I try not to do it back.
It wasn't a perfect suggestion, but there is some serious disparity in the level-up room decks. Getting to level 11 takes very little time, and can be very discouraging for entry level players to face very well-tuned Tier 2 decks when they are just trying make their decks better.
And no, I am not complaining about it, I am just trying to see if there is a better balance. I have been playing for months now, and have slogged through endless losses just to get a deck where it wants to be. If you want to criticize the suggestion, criticize the suggestion, not what you believe me to be complaining about.

This would be true but who ever said I only had one deck? I have many decks in fact. Sometimes I want to take my best and face the best, other times I want to play casually and this is when I level random cards. I could care less about any ego in eredan. I'm not on page one of pointless ranks, thier are no regionals or nationals, the team thing is clumsy at best. So I have no real reason to give a damn about my win rate, my elo points(other than eventaully working for an ateb).
All I see from you and anyone else is a lack of understanding that not every player is going to be on the same level, the same page, hell not even the same mind set. I invest my time and sometimes money to enjoy the game how I want, you should do the same. If running into people stronger than you is a bother you should then make the choice on how to resolve the issue. Senseless complaints of a subject vastly scattered around this forum isn't really making you any better at eredan.
My advice to you and anyone else with a similar problem of yours is to find some friends and play more between yourselves. As time goes by you will begin to care less about what other people are playing and more about what you can do to get the better of them regardless of thier chars and deck.
I've slummed it in ELO with my circus deck, I could slum newhere with anything cuz I could care less. In fact, I know 2 discard complainers who have posted after sending me some nice angry hate mail after a match lol. But I do me, you do you, if we ever cross paths, gl to you.

So there's no problem here, you do it too right? Using all maxed characters in the level room and stuffs, and you should expect the same even if you're levelling low level character

It's a hell boring try to play the same deck over and over again obviously, and the "2nd tier" deck wouldn't be so 2nd tier if there are life devourer, keep your guard up, 3 assassination on it. I'm sure that kind of deck can beat your's anytime anywhere

What I do not understand, is why people 'level other cards with maxed out characters' when you can do the same thing with unfinished characters as well. It is beyond me, why people would not divert to this method, seeing as they could either level characters they already wanted to level, or level characters they can sell for more later on. It is a win/win situation.
Instead, people use maxed out characters to easily stomp those who use lower leveled characters and train, not only their other cards, but also their characters. All this is, is people preying on those who are actually using the level rooms to level up their cards. If you have a deck with maxed chars and cards, go to the elo rooms. You will not be able to fine tune your deck in the level rooms where people train their shitty decks and level up cards.

I'm still baffled people dont just evo! Thiers 2 chatrooms typically filled with knowledgable players who can either participate or teach how to evo fastest. As most players assume leveling room intends your numerical level they bring a strong deck. Someone noted, ELO room nets more exp. Well I got a perfect in ELO and a perfect in Level. The difference was 2 and I had to wait 7 minutes to get the ELO match. You can figure out the math and how at times(more often than not) ELO will not net you more exp. Tho it is admitedly much more rewarding in terms of accomplishment.
When I want to level a bunch of cards I'll just evo. I see no point in running a deck made up of cards that need to level when I can specifically level what I want when I want fastest with a stronger deck. I got zero complaints from people when leveling okooni(w/ hime/akutsai maxed) and kyoshiro(with okooni/akutsai maxed) i am quite positive the only faster route would have been direct evoing. Why would I want to slow down leveling my specific needs to level something I will probably never finish, use, or sell?
Until I get cards of value from packs or a hot deal the jank chars will stay janky. Let alone the fact that the majority of high value cards are already overpriced to start, or require another overpriced item to complete. Also you have to make a good call. Playing the market isn't always easy, especially to those with a less than stellar crystal reserve. One wrong choice and not only did you waste ***bip*** time leveling the card you bought for 20k and the time invested to max it out only to see it undercut to a negative profit.

For those who do not know what 'Evo' is, click here.
If you evo to level up your cards, there is absolutely no reason or necessity to play in the level rooms with maxed cards. Your cards are finished through evo runs and there is no need to test them out. Considering you evo, I assume you know exactly what you are doing and know which cards to use in your decks to make them tourney capable and competative. So, I ask, why prey upon those who do not wish to evo? There are evoatheists out there, who do prefer to actually play the game instead of mindlessly grind it. Both come to the same result in the end, one method is more fun. It loses its fun though, when you cannot even play properly because you have elo capable decks stomping you in the rooms meant for you to level up your characters, train your deck and also tune it while you learn how to play it throughout its progress.
If you ask me, the game is meant to offer the latter and is initially meant to be played like this. People do the evo grind, despite the grand increases of experience points from normal games..., only because they are abusing a safety mechanism for something entirely different to do it a bit faster. If people would actually play their decks from small to large and learn how to use them, all this 'I need to tune and test my deck' bullshit wouldn't even be a necessary excuse. When I train my characters and other cards, I learn how to play with them and finetune my deck along the way. When the deck is finished I go to elo rooms and see how it works out there. Accordingly to my success, I change and alter my deck to perform better THERE. Instead people evo grind mindlessly and without thought (Sorry, but you cannot tell me that it is mind intensive. Its not even playing the game.) and fail to learn the mechanics of the game and how their decks work, as well as the characters they use.
Thus, to my original claim, I will add a third win. Train your decks like the game intended and you learn how to use your deck and can tune it better as well as being able to level cards either for own use or for future sale. Win/win/win.

see, when i ever play in level rooms i activate random fight, so i don't choose my oponents... that means that i can get a lvl 11 player or a lvl 18 player... if you think maxed decks are a problem in the level room, you should play against players around your own level, that doesn't mean fairness coz i sometimes found a few op decks on my level or one level above or so...
in fact not everybody feels ready to play elo rooms, sometimes, these same elo rooms are empty so you can't play at all unless you get into level rooms
trophies are another reason, and sometimes, when i get into the level room myself with my maxed deck, i expect to face high leveled decks to test my own

I've already expressed my dislike of the max decks while leveling, so I won't go into it again.
I know that I've played significantly less in the past 3 weeks since the phenomenon started happening.
I've had no desire to build new decks and get pummeled 90% of the time, so I elo some, wonder why there aren't more people elo-ing, the realize, "Oh, they're all in the level room with thier full evoed decks instead of here!", and close the game...
Honestly, if you took every single max deck that's playing in the evo room, and placed them into elo, people would -not- be winning or losing more. It'd be the same ratio.....and it'd make ELO a hell of a lot more fun than it currently is....

I think the issue is more an image thing.....
People have to big image problems
1) Thier win ratio
2) Top ELO decks will pound them.
Fixing #1 would never happen. People like to win, and are afraid of that magic little number of thier win % dropping and other people looking and laughing.
Fixing #2 is easy. Breezy already suggested it here http://forum.eredan.com/viewtopic.php?i … at=itcg-us
But the misconception that you'll lose more than you already do in ELO is going to remain.
If you play a slum deck, and your elo is higher than the strength of your deck, you should fall until you start facing similarly strength decks. Once you hit that ELO rating, your deck should play out and play fairly well.
You won't consistently lose. You'll be categorized by ranking. And once you do get categorized, you start playing evenly strong players, which makes winning challenging, and , should be, fun.
But the catch is, you need a larger pool than the current ELO allows for. Right now, you hit 1650, you can face a 2000 and get pummeled, instead of facing someone with a similar deck strength.
After the last thread, I've come to realize that it's a joint problem. Partly the players being adverse to competition (although, like I said above, it's no different than the current situation if everyone moved over), the other part is an onus on the game itself to make ELO more friendly and a better choice for max decks.
If there were no luck in TCG, how boring would that be?

Meh I suggest they do this make training arena have unlimited access (still no exp or crystal award) drop the fail safe since it becomes point less then and stops the abuse and then have level room for same lvl opponents to duek it out.
Edit: reason I want this is cause this is a game where i don't really want to get competetive and here it is either go elo with your max out deck or go level room. I choose level room.

I don't get this, I'm sorry.
If you're playing a deck versus random people, aren't you playing to win? And doesn't that make you automatically competitive?
Whether you admit to it or not, you aren't playing versus friends just to play, you're playing a deck thats meant to beat other decks...so shouldn't you be playing versus other decks aiming to do the same, and not evo-ing decks whose goal isn't to win, but to level?
But...if you aren't playing to win, and don't care if you lose, what's the difference between the level room and the ELO room then?
Edit:
I meant it as a serious question as well. If you can't identify what the issue is with not playing in ELO, it's hard to find a suggestion to correct the issue.

How bout we start asking what we can do ourselves to make the game better for us. Some suggestions are above our control obviosly but thier are many many people in this game who are sure to have some ideas that could be done.

I don't know you aside from brief interatctions in the chat room, but you are entirely in control of your playtime. You decide when to play, when to stop, and when to do other things. I am not going to go much further since I do not know what real life issues may prevent you but anytime you have a choice you are in control.
As far as playing with friends, its one solution of many. It may not work for you or other players but it may still work for others.
All I am trying to get across is
A. The forums are not large enough to get the word out, the problem will exist despite futile complaints.
B. Taking matters into your hands, whether you quit, find friends, join teams, or stomp max decks with ***bip*** max deck, or find alternative solutions, is what people should focus on doing.

- The forums is the Dev's feedback. It is our only outlet to being able to have a say in whether we like the current system. I don;t expect people to change play. I expect there to be a good idea to pop up that the devs will integrate and change behaviour. Forums are the least futile way to get something looked at really...
- Force quitting ruins fairplay. Ruin your fairplay far enough, you get 0 XP and 0 crystals. Given theres probably more max than not decks, if you quit every max deck you see while levelling, you'll end up at the zero point. It's an option yes, but a fair one? Punish me for trying to level?
- Playing with friends is fine. Most want to do 3 in 3 out though. I don't condone that playstyle as I find it abusive to the system. I'm not opening that box again since its sealed away, so lets leave it at that. Me and other people in chat =/= evo, so I've stopped trying that.
-Teams play is community organized and you may get one or two games a week.
-Finding alternates is this whole point. As it stands, I get 5 evo games a day in the training room, then there's no real other option unless you get a beatdown every game in the level room. Poeple have suggested increasing the cap in training, thats fine, but is it the only solution? I still stand by making ELO more attractive as a whole, or changing the mindset is the way to go. Not everyone reads the forums, but everyone plays and sees the changes.
The other possible solution? Bring back tournaments. Which is probably the simplest and most effective. Mind you, so long as the freezes dont return too
The tourney was an outlet to play max decks that was used a lot. The only problem was the mimimal decks taht could be used and used well. Now, there's a whole slew of speedier decks, so it could make a good comeback.
