Ishaia, Galmara~Zil, Shadow or Abom lvl 5

3x Ice barrier
3x Overwhelming victory
3x Manipulation
1x Versatility
1x Tea ceremony
1x Treacherous
1x Time to die
1x Assassination
1x Camp
1x The monster
1x It is time (for shadow or abom)
1x Fist blade
1x Life devourer
1x In the nick of time

So i'm more than anything wondering if i should make the effort to lvl my abom and put him in there or if i should use shadow who copes better with mages, who since the last release are jumping about like crazy in ELO..

also, should i use a Spiritual debate? haven't used the card yet, so does it reduce -2 if used by ishaia? if so, what card should i remove for it ?

What of the new Cards lets mages get better ? There is basicly none of the new Cards i would play the all plain bad other than very situational sideboard events.
Can you please Explain me how mages got better in any way ?

they can now disarm an army with one card and all in all they got more good cards, end of discussion. i need suggestions for my deck not controversy, thank you.

Meh, not sure if I like how your deck meshes together. I would choose shadow over abom if you are going to use this lineup.

Personally for courts ive been using oogoe kage, lord gal, and kimiko.. this allows me use of a lot of great cards such as emperors speech/waki, its only weak vs mages

your deck is more focused around zil obviously, Personally tea ceremony to me is overrated. If you want something AoE type, I would use a lightning bolts (3). ish has 2 spirit at lvl 3 so thats 4 dmg to all w/o spirit, it only makes it weaker to tea ceremony vs mages, you could also use a storm in place of it as well.

I'm not much for meta decks, I tend to make my own and roll with it. other than that, the rest of your deck looks fine.

i think that's a good point with lightning bolts 3, that's one change thanks..

i used to run last word and fire with my ish court deck. with her bonuses and overwhelming victory could do 15 dam to the opponent. won me a lot of fights

Too defensive I suppose, put more daggers into it.. galmara and abomb like daggers
So put one more devourer and fist dagger, 1 nick of time is okay I guess

The deck seems to defend more vs. brawlers than spell casters. Did you mean Philosophical Debate? It is a good card vs. casters but, it's a dead draw against a brawler deck. If you could have use for it against any deck or most decks, then it would be fine. Like say you swap out Galmara for Oogue, then have a Tsume somewhere there.

If you do end up running Philosophical Debate, then maybe you can -1 ice barrier because only Ishaia can use it. Then probably you can do away with Treacherous because the Philosophical Debates are more permanent problem for mages than a one-time discard.

Philosophical Debate would also work well with the swap of Lightning Bolts 3 over Tea Ceremony because even mages and priests might get hurt with their spirit lowered.

Have you also considered running a Council's decision, it's an all-around right? Especially when Ishaia plays it, it's almost a no cost at 2 life.

dan ~ you mean last word and fire spells in general ? i'm not really going for a full fledged mage deck, i wouldn't doubt putting a lightning bolts 3 for the occasional AoE but that'd be it, i'm a brawler, mages are not quite my type..thanks though!

eddie ~ i thought the same, which is why i wanted to balance a little with philosofical debate, but yeah oogoe would take the most advantage out of that, still..i think i'll give debate a try =o)

I'd say test and see which card you don't find useful often. But just by your deck list, I'd axe the Monster. I think you can rely on the barriers and manips enough.

use noz courts and then you can hold up against mages and also boost your spirit so that, with dragons wit, any of your chars can use lb3 and cause nice dam

I'll have to agree here. Zil is my favorite guild. They have the most original concept.

About Shadow vs. Abom... They can probably both do decent beatdown jobs, but if you need the extra resilience vs. mages, go Shadow... or Abom if he can kill them before they kill him.

indeed, can't wait to see what new cards can be applied to them..
hmm, i guess i can sell my abom and save for [card]a new start[/card], i don't have the watchmaker so there's no real point in keeping him for other deck purposes either, shadow lvl5 is very similar in stats and betters him in spirit anyway..
