Obesity double negation?

I've never used obesity so I do have to ask if it can cancel out a time to die followed by assasination. that's what just happened, with one obesity that should have cancelled my atk doubling only and given me the 3-4 atk from the assassination, he just negated both buffs..

The blank vast gaze which grins lay thin..

Obesity negates assassination and Time to die doubles 0 ... which is 0 ...

oh of course, it's just since time to die makes no little lighting effect of it being it's turn i immediately thought obesity went first, thanks..
