actually 3 solaris are essential, it's the life and blood of DN, but still wonders why in the low spirit eclipse deck he put an[card]Aura of Faith[/card] o_O

You might be surprised at how effective it is, I grab an extra permanent 2-3 attack permanently depending on the turn and I can chain it with a bunch of different things
Hors ligne
And I have nothing better to put in at the moment.
Hors ligne
where are the obesitys ? and why not assassination
Hors ligne
Low on funds but other than [card]Solaris[/card] they are the top on the list. I am about to get some feez and probably get the Time to die trophy thing and a bunch of packs. My [card]assassination[/card] from the starter went to [card]Kararine[/card] and my [card]...Will be your Grave![/card] went to [card]Djamena[/card]

could use sacred novas alot too if you have them. also a crystal issue tho

Fallback is almost purely to counter Saps
[card]Expiation[/card] + Divine light takes out any AOE.
Steal Shadows 3 Spirit and outheal DM3, Mage tries to LB3? Same outcome...
Rest is pretty standard.

in response to rathedan
the nomad builds i have seen destroy the build for the most part. the problems i found:
1) iolmarek is an easy target and an easy kill and he reduces all other chars spirit making the entire team an easy noz mages target
2) divine nova is a luck card running more than 2 is pointless cuz if it doesn't go as planned it will often cost you the match
3) against decks with high def all your doing is prolonging death
4) fallback further decreases your lack of attack power
so damage wise you have: time to die/ assassination which is great as provided obesity is not used but if you used solar anger on DJ it can only be used on kara and what good is that if she is dead, the first targets in a deck like that are DJ and kara as they have high att and very low defence and low spirit and iol at his best with your build will never be more than an 11/11. solaris is a must in any nomad deck, but again obesity, however obesity should be played with solaris at all time to prevent solaris from being negated.
this is just my opinion and does look like a very defensive deck but if you wanna be defensive with nomads go all priest
so if you feel that i am wrong send me a msg and i will gladly let you prove me wrong

Thanks for the input everyone! I am really enamored with the deck whether it is one of the best or not I am finding that I am having a lot of fun with it.
@Rathedan: the deck structure you showed me looks good and I might tweak it a little depending on the flow of crystals coming my way.
@Bloodlust007: Your input gives me a few ideas of the decks weaknesses and I have a few thoughts on how to fix it now.
@everyone else: thanks for taking a look and if you responded then thank you for taking your time commenting on my thread.

So, all I got from Bloodlust was that you should use solaris and obesity, which has already been pointed at. If you're going to criticize someone's deck you need to give some input, not just comments.
Personally, I'd use Sphinx instead of Iolmarek. I've yet to finish my deck, but I'll let you know how it works out, Gil.

I like it rath, pretty close to what i go with. I found the expiration/divine nova combo really fun too. Expiration can be used as just a defensive card too when going up against a mage.
Fallbacks vrs saps(hands down worst TG or Eclipse match-up) are a good idea. I been trying out an I hate Brawlers which works pretty well and chains often. Fallback gives Karaine a chance too tho. can see it helping a lot in the 4-5-6 set of rounds too, when your 10-12 char is gunna kill the person you already beat up without a problem and you just need to survive it.
@All- if you are making a eclipse deck and can afford three Sacred Nova-RUN THEM. been playing nomads awhile and when you are facing down foam giant with 8 items and 9 defense you are digging thru your deck pretty fast for them. also, it chains, so if it fails it's not like you don't have a backup.
As my other input I run a Sunburn, for courts, priest do double duty with it and i have two. also use a Scroll of Immobility, another counter vrs defense, helps with nomad defense and can win vrs items have a soul if used after.
Hors ligne
As my other input I run a Sunburn,
Tired that, found it lacking sadly. I fully expected that it'd be a killer versus Courts.
Most times I just end up killling Ish with Kara/DJ and assa.....

to be honest i haven't played courts since i made the deck thought it would work tho with 2 priests. You are right in the best defense vrs courts is to kill them in one go. will see how it goes for a bit. will try storm once i finish the trophy

Question, because I haven't really played in ELO that much:
Are quick-draw Sap Hearts that common in ELO tables to warrant running two copies of Fallback? It seems to me that you could probably dedicate those slots to something else, maybe a third Assassination and a silver bullet like Ascetic or To Lay Bare?
Thanks in advance! I'm really interested in this archetype but I'm still missing some of the key cards. ATM I am running a Temple Guardian build with the nomads.
EDIT: Here's my deck. I stuck in Free the Shadow as a counter to people who hold 5 cards in hand with 0 cards left in the deck, should the situation arise. It can easily be replaced by any card you like though:

they are common enough that it wouldn't hurt. Sap hearts with Melissadra is the number one thing you will learn to hate seeing when playing nomads. been testing 1 after seeing rath's post earlier and it's been helping out.
i wouldn't use it in your build probaly tho until you get the Obesitys to chain it off of and the 2 other soloris you need. I always liked Ahlem over Lodir too just to get some magic damage in. Ahlem is a beast in attack for a pure priest too. Djamena might work just as well now I haven't tried her in TG yet doing eclipse atm.

Obeis is so strong for nomads because even though it negates cards, its also a [card]protect the weak[/card] +1 for them, so it becomes 2 positives instead of a negative to them.
Rule of thumb, when I'm deck building, is usually to never include more than 2 of a card unless all 3 can use it. 3 Assa's might mean I'm drawing a dead card for Iol a lot. It's sounds weird maybe, esp that one card can do that, but its true. It's also the reason theres only 2 angers. Card flow is important.
Fallback almost is a neccesity. Saps are truly the deck killer, and countering it
in all honesty, is the difference this between being a mediocre deck and a strong deck.
pekpekkypek: Theres two types of TG decks. If you go Ahelm/DJ/Someone, you're looking at a nuke and heal version of a deck. Running 3 warriors tends to be a full out nuke/burn deck. Which means all you're really looking for is 12 cards; 3 tomb/grave, and 3 obeis/solaris. Under the sun is a good choice for a chainable card, so is the temple sword (i'd lose the pots and the spear), so running 2-3 of each makes sure if you don't have those above combos you can play against the meta. After that its really just countering decks. The ones you have there are pretty good. Aesetic might be better than lay bare, but that depends on how you feel playing it and how it runs I guess.

4) fallback further decreases your lack of attack power
1) Iol almost always gets chosen first. That's fine. Nova+Anger against warriors, Expiation+anger versus Mages. Fallbacks too if I want him to stay preist for healing....you get the pic. You'd be suprised how long he lives. Expiation is a mage killer. Well...more mage "Take the wind out of your spells" card.
2) Nova is a chain card. It's not meant to be the powerhouse of the deck. Nova+solaris on DJ means a potential ton of heals. Nova+Divine light means offense while still being defensive. Nova+nova is just a gamble that sometimes I roll with to see what happens Running 2 means you gotta find another chain card that works.
3) Um...really? High defense is probably the worst counter to nomads of any sort. I'm not sure where you were going here...
4) Fallback is situational. I toss it a lot. I count at least 10 purely offensive cards in the deck. I've found it enough to win more than lose by a good margin.
Personally, I'd use Sphinx instead of Iolmarek
Means I'd almost rebuild the old demi-eclipse deck I used to have. Take out expiation, light, and nova. Insert 2-3 Scimitars, 2 Tomb/grave and the deck would be done. Haven't tried it yet but been tempted to. Not sure how well it'd fare versus mages though. let me know for sure.

Thanks for the input, I always liked the fury pot chain on the Sphinx, and the temple sword-fury potion combo on the others, but Obesity seems to beg for the spot here. And I can probably chuck in the 2x Solaris when I take out Free the Shadow and the spear. Thanks again!

Could the love war combo make a decent substitute for the tomb/grave combo in this deck too? While tomb/grave is nice, i'm never really thrilled with the hp loss, and the love/war combo was suggested in my thread as a better choice.
Also, how exactly would you heal off a tomb/grave combo using Solaris?
Hors ligne
I've been testing another version of nomads
Iolmarek - white version
Ahlem
Kararine - (still deciding what to use, priest or eclipse version)
Aura of faith x 2 (3 if you run kararine priest)
Divine anger x 2 (3 also if you run kararine priest)
Solaris x 3 (obvious)
Spear of light x 3 (it counts printed spirit score, so works after aura and anger+ white Iolmarek has 3 spirit for 3 health)
Protective spirit (2 or 3 dependin on kararine version, for chaining aura).
Rest is up to indidual player, mix of obesity, under the sun, nova or any other answers to decks you hate.
Deck work by putting any combination of spear, anger and aura and playing solaris after, 15/15 permament ahlem is easy to reach
Hors ligne
If you use [card]Solar's Anger[/card] with someone with [card]Spear of light[/card], does this one is discarded? Because it's for marauders and priests ..
I've been testing a similar deck, a bit competitive but quite fun
1. Characters.
[card]Ahlem[/card]
[card]Ïolmarek[/card] ( spirit bonus )
[card]Djamena[/card]
I've taken Orzine at first but it's max HP wasn't enough to make the heal effective.
Characters don't give attack bonus to themselves so we have :
Ahlem 5/8
Ïolmarek 4/6 with 3 spirit and 17/18 max HP for each of them
Djamena 6/9
2. And combos.
2 x [card]Obesity[/card]
2 x [card]Solaris[/card]
Epic combo...
2 x [card]Epic Fury[/card]
Little boost useful
2 x [card]Concentration[/card]
2 x [card]Protective Spirit[/card]
2 x [card]Aura of Faith[/card]
1 x [card]Divine Light[/card]
The deck's base to do a good heal of 5 to 8 or a boost of +4 to +6 with a bit of luck. Protective Spirit make you be able to defend yourself 'properly' against Sap Hearts and co
1 x [card]Spiritual Duel[/card]
Epic with Ïolmarek and his 4/6, less with Djamena. Of course, be careful your spirit is at least double opponent's spirit
3 x [card]Sacred Nova[/card]
1 x [card]Ascetic[/card]
Pretty good against Kotoba, Trackers, Dragon Knight...
I personnally put [card]Journey[/card] and [card]Ill Omen[/card]. It gives you 3 points in defence so it's quite good.
It's quite different from Eclipse's game concept as I want to say that you haven't attack boost at the beginning. Your spirit may give you the keys to reach victory.
At first, i've tested with [card]Solar's Anger[/card] but with the big difference between min and max attack points, I've juged that [card]Aura of Faith[/card] is more effective. 2 Aura of Faith are enough and even if I add a third Aura or one Solar's Anger, it's possible nobody have spirit to heal. And Solar's Anger make you warrior so ...
Lots of chains ( 11, but 4 in Theurgy and 2 in Actions...) so 6 in total. We could remove one Obesity, Ill Omen for [card]Sunburn[/card], [card]Anathematize[/card]... or the must [card]A new journey[/card].
This deck is pretty good, strategy is to reach little and little victory, so even if with Ïolmarek you don't make damage at the first turns, don't leave and I'm sorry for my english, i've never been really good with ...:D
