Sap Heart deck

Hi everyone! I'm a new guy around here and came to search some advice from the more experienced guys around here.
I am trying to make a Sap Heart deck, and i need some suggestions on how to expand. let me know your ideas and experiences on  the cards.

well first here is what i have right now:
caracters:
[card]Ydiane[/card]
[card]melissandre[/card]
[card]spiritspeaker[/card]

support:
[card]bark armor[/card] x2
[card]elfine bow[/card] x3
[card]hypnotic melody[/card] x2
[card]magic poison[/card] x1
[card]quick draw[/card] x2
[card]scouting the area[/card] x3

filler:
[card]fight![/card] x2
[card]it is time[/card] x1
[card]static charge[/card] x1
[card]to lay bare[/card] x1
[card]weapon dance[/card] x1
[card]win using force[/card] x1

my own ideas at this point are the following:
- want to change out [card]spiritspeaker[/card] for [card]keizan[/card] later on, i would like to know what do you guys think would be the best option, keizan mage or  keizan warrior. now i dont have that much money at this point.

now i have about 50k at this point and a bit extra in cards that i dont mind selling. i geuss that is about 10k, so i would let keizan for what he is at first, this doesn't mean i dont want advice on it thought, if i go to mage i can put in spells wich is nice in those battles where the opponent just keeps boosting there cards defences fast, but for a warior, i have 3 wariors and can put in some weapons wich he would get chain on and when needed can be put on the other caracters to and he also seems to be more scary right from the start.

- if you think i should go for the warrior version what card can i use as a substitute untill i'm buying him ?
- if i should go for mage what spells should i get. and is spiritspeaker a good card to use till i get him ? if not what is ?
- should i use something completely different as a 3th caracter card ?

- I geuss i want to add a 3th hypnotic melody
- and a 3th quick draw, it is supposed to become a quick draw deck after all, lol
- now what should i do more or different then this? what to scrap what to add ?
- is there anything i need to know about leveling the caracters ? like needing a watchmaker.

If you think i should do something completely different i would like to hear that to, just keep in mind i want it to remain sap heart and preferably quick draw. but i am open for other ideas to.

now i dont have that much ice cold crystals, so i have +- 60k to expand on this for now. that is minus kaizen you can give me a cards to use till i get him.
and i dont mind if you expand that a bit as i can work towards it. but dont make it to high.

hope you guys can help me out !

And i am sorry if i made some spelling/grammer mistakes, English is not my first language.

Re : Sap Heart deck

U should add a third melody 3/3 melody/draw is pretty much a staple.

I run Mage Keizan, I find that the added spirit to my other chars makes me just a little bit more durable when facing any type of mages or anything regarding spirit. HE also has 3 spirit and when running offensive spells he can pack quite a punch. Playing a mage makes your deck much more versatile and capable of using more options for answers to other decks.

As far as your fillers. I would do the following
-fight! x2
+simple daggerx2(til u get living or life)

-static charge x1
+1 fireball(if u have the starter one)

-win using forcex1
+1 up your ass

it is time and weapon dance could be replaced with journey, camps, dazzler, and other trophy cards if you have any.

ull def want atleast 2 magic poison. I cannot count how many times ydianne has ben able to meldoy/poison and get more damage from poison than the thrid attack. Also fireball/poison on low spirit chars is nice.

Re : Sap Heart deck

Does he really need 3x [card]Elfine Bow[/card]? I dunno... He could use other cards.

2 is enough imo.

Re : Sap Heart deck

Personally I would ditch some of the action cards and throw in a few more of the Sap Heart Nature spells, like Root, and more Magic poison. While Quick Draw and Hypnotic are the bread and butter of this deck, Magic poison can be a real threat to cards like Xin the Ironbringer, who has high defense but 0 spirit. Also Root is vastly underrated, its truly useful for gimping an opponents charcters. 2 Elfine bows are fine if you want them, but I rarely find use for them unless you have a tricky opponent who just wont die. I also suggest the Swarm nature spell, its great for opponents relying on items. Bark Armor is not really useful here, ive used them and this deck is more about speed than anything, and bark armor doesnt do enough to waste a turn on playing it. Just my 2 cents

thanks for the advices man smile

all i played before was the starter deck and daggers, in witch i loved having a mage at my side next to the marauders, so i see where you are comming from and i will keep keizan a mage, this way he can play support spells for my other caracters to.

yeah daggers, the living and life ones are to expensive atm. so i'm going simple daggers.

i have added fireball to, should have seen that myself lol.
up your ass feels nice to, might try out using 2 and see how it works.

i now use 3x life poison, i noticed i need them quite often against high def, low spirit decks.

thanks for the help sir.

i have deleted the bark armors as they where more often then not death weight in my hand, i have added more spells and it works great, my deck seems to flow quite a bit better now.

I will experiment with more spells still as i think 1 or 2 extra wont hurt at all and i could easily remove it is time to i geuss, as i really dont need it to often. do you mean [card]devouring swarm[/card] when you say swarm nature?

and i will try out root for sure, i geuss it will work nice when i get up against foam giant decks or something like that.

Re : Sap Heart deck

Yeah I meant devouring swarm, I just couldnt remember the name lol. It works not only against foam giant, but it can shut down Zil using Assassination chains, mages chaining spells, Multitasking Craftsmen, and other Sap Heart decks using Quickdraw/ Melody. I will say this, Invisiblity is a nice card for situational protection, but I use 3 scouting the area, because in its second level it can give +2 to everyone for 2 turns, and if you get a hand that is short a spell or you can't draw the combo you need for Melissandre or Ydiane, its a great card to have.

The deck Im using now looks kind of like this

[card]Ydiane[/card]-lvl 3
[card]Melissandre[/card]-lvl 3
[card]Keizen[/card]- lvl 1 (training my second for the title)

Spells-I go heavy on spells because Keizen and Ydiane can use them, and they are great for softening up opponents

[card]Magic Posion [/card]x3
[card]Root[/card] x2
[card]Devouring Swarm[/card] x2

Actions

[card]Quickdraw[/card] x3
[card]Hypnotic Melody [/card]x3
[card]Scouting the Area [/card]lvl 2 x3
[card]Bite![/card] x1 - One of those situational filler cards, It can be swapped out

[card]Up your Ass![/card] x2- The other half of the situational cards, I use this in case I have an Obesity happy opponent, or if I have nothing else to use

Items

[card]Elfine Bow[/card] lvl 2 x1 - I use this only when I fail to one shot anyone with Keizen's magic poison or Melissandre, I usually equip it to Ydiane and use an Up your Ass to soften the target without wasting hypnotic, its normally enough to finish the charcters with a few health points left off

Overall its a versitile set up, you can kind of adapt to your situation with this one but the goal it to take out an opponent on the first turn if possible, and apply pressure with Keizen. The Bite/Up your Ass combo can be swapped out for things like Obesity/Anathemize/More Spells etc, anything you want to add some flavor to the deck.

I usually do pretty well against everything, although Noz mages give me trouble, and Defensive decks like Kot warriors with Xin, courts and Dragon Knights give me trouble as well but I might throw in [card]Implosion[/card] for them and see how that goes.

Re : Sap Heart deck

While Im at it, I might as well touch on some of the questions you asked

steeliebob a écrit :

1. Keizen's warrior form is not really all that useful for what you are trying to do here, because he gives a -1 defense penalty to anyone with higher than 4 defense, and that includes your own charcters. He might work for specialized decks, but at this time I can't really find a place for him in any of my decks

2. Ill skip this one because we took care of that farther down

3. As for using another charcter as your 3rd support, Ive heard Gaya with Multitasking works pretty well, but I havent tried it myself, Ive got 3 of each of the Amber Fetishes and a maxed Gaya, Im just saving for those Multitasking

4. Finally Ill touch on the question at the very end concerning charcters, for the Sap Hearts you dont need Watchmaker/Apostle for anything, however, Spiritspeaker needs a full exp Root to go from 3 to 4, and Ydiane needs a full exp Elfine bow lvl 2 to go from level 2 to 3, if I remember correctly. This can be best achieved by using at least one bow in your deck and being patient, after all items gain Exp slower than Charcters do.

Re : Sap Heart deck

On the new one ull still want to make room for daggers so you can get used to using them as they turn meliss into a nightmare especially early going if you get them.
