Yeah. He's a golem.
Very few items don't work for golems. Such as Whip, (Since it says "Circus:" in its effects,) Jolly Roger, and such like that.

When the text on the spear says "printed spirit score" does that mean that it's a fixed amount of healing? Like say your character has 2 spirit, then you equip mirage cloak, then spear of light. Will it heal 4 or 2?

It will heal an amount equal to whatever number is PRINTED on your character's card.

Sadly yes haha, but consider it a constant Healing Balm for anyone who can equip it. Upside is, you can use Eclipse Lolmarek without worries.
