The hungry Void

I didn't get to try it up to this point but: The hungry Void says i pick a card from my or, from lvl 3 on, also from the enemy's discard pile, that card is immediately played.

So i ask myself 2 Questions:

1) Can i play cards that way my character normally cant use, like using Assasination with a Warrior or even ignoring Guild-restrictions?

2) It says immediately, so would an Item like for example a life devourer activate immediately?

1) No, the restrictions are still there

2) No, the card is considered as a card played from your hand.
