I just had the strangest game ever. I lost to someone who was able to play cards as a warrior restricted to mages. And before he had 7HP and 1 Def and Manipulation equipped and I had 8/8 Attack and still didn't manage to defeat him... He's a Courtesan (Zil/Kotoba) but I am a Nomad so Manipulation shouldn't give me the extra -1 Attack penalty as I don't share anything with him. So why can he pull off those tricks? IT's not really fair and kills the fun if I lose to those "cheats".

Getting the things straight:
You said the opposing character was a warrior courtesan Kot/Zil able to cast Mage spells.
There is only one character that fits this description : Galmara ( Shadow Guemelite version). A Guemelite can ignore the Mage class restriction related to spell cards depending on which kind of Guemelite he is. In his case, he is a Shadow Guemelite, which means he can play Shadow spells.
Now onto the next issue:
You mentioned that your character had 8/8 attack and that your opponent's character had 7 health and 1 def , and was using manipulation, and you weren't able to defeat him.
Here is what manipulation does : "Permanent. All opposing character have attack -1. Opposing characters that share the same guild as your character, Attack -2 instead. Chain." Meaning that is at least a -1 attack your character.
You didn't mention when he used the Manipulation. Neither what cards you and your opponent on that given turn. IF your opponent used Manipulation on that specific turn your character then became a 7/7 due to Manipulation effect and so wasn't able to win the match. This is just a random guess because like i said, you didn't give more info on what cards you both used on that turn.

I see, it's good to know, that Guemelite can cast spells. So that makes sense now. I'll keep that in mind when I face them again.
Manipulation was already equipped. I played Aziz who is 6/6. Manipulation got him down to 5/5 and after playing Fury Potion he became 8/8. And the opponent played only increasing Attack cards, no difference were made to HP or Defence. I wonder wether it's cumulative or what. I'm sure there's an explanation to it. Or it's a bug, either way...

What do you mean by "cumulative"?

If there was two [card]Manipulation[/card]s in play, then they would have stacked.

There were, but there was also a Desert Scimitar in place which got my Attack up by 1 so it's even. The only explanation I have is, that it's a bug and see's a Nomad as guild shared with the courtesan to give it the extra bonus. Nevermind, it would have made only a slight difference. I think I would have lost on points anyway...

Which character was the other manipulation attached to ? If it was to [card]Hasna[/card], [card]Kimiko[/card], [card]Angelique[/card] or [card]Conseillor Ishaia[/card] then you get an additionnal -1 because they are Nomads.

No, he had no Nomad. Oogoe Kage, Lord Galmara and Marlok, if I remember correctly. Either a bug or my fault by not paying attention to details. It happens...
