Thunder Bolts?

What is your opinion on TB2 and TB3... I would personally take 3 TB2 over one TB3.

Re : Thunder Bolts?

tb2 sounds more practical but fights usually doesn't last for more than 6 turns. better drop a one huge bomb that opens up other cards for your deck than pinch them little by little.

hell is when you drew 3 arcaniums at round 1

Re : Thunder Bolts?

Well, the main KO hit of a deck using TB3 is having the hungry void and using it twice before turn 4. The damage isn't different either, it just happens to all of the characters instead of just 2. I say thunderbolts2+thunderbolts2 is just as messed up as RoD+RoD. It may not kill the character in play, but it majorly softens up competition to come.

Most characters average about 1 or two spirit. Against a 5-6 spirit Noz Mage it can mean 12-14 damage with AoE whacking any combination of the remaining two (whether it be 1 and 1 or 2 on 1)

If there were no luck in TCG, how boring would that be?

Hadn't tested that. RoD+RoD will probably remain the KO combination for magic for a long time.
I'd still prefer to be an arse and use 2-3 level 2 than 1 level 3

Re : Thunder Bolts?

rod takes 3 spaces on the deck. you need 17 more.
but yeah. for pure mages single target spells seems better.
it is notable that using an aoe lowers the damage to the actual character the caster is battling except when you used a dual-classed.

Re : Thunder Bolts?

Lvl 2 are totally out of the question IMO, its AoE, you can barely get away with using TB3, you almost always need to play 2 cards in your turn when facing decent oponents. Playing more than 1 TB2 is not possible IMO.

TB1 is an option i have considered because there is only a small amount of single target magic available (Arcaniums suck, BiH is decent, RoD is amazing, Arrow is decent), but TB3 is a great card to destroy beginners who enter tourneys.
