In game chat

I often play against friends and chat with them over Facebook chat, which is okayish. I do think it would be more fun and better if an in game chat was available so you can chat with the person you are playing against.

I do not know how difficult it would be to implement this into your game, but I do think it would generally improve the game's quality a lot.

In addition it would help create more contact between the player base than just games, as apparently besides the few forum goers, nobody really communicates with eachother.

Re : In game chat

I know this has been brought up before, but I don't care.  I completely agree.  I know trolling and trash talking has been brought up as an issue, but we all have to realize that this is the internet.  It's unavoidable.  If you don't want to to trash talked, don't read the chat.

Re : In game chat

I agree. Tbh I doubt that many people would actually trash talk eachother. And if so thenonly in playful fun. Sometimes I mock my buddies in FB chat when we play against eachother. 'In for my royal beating!? Here it comes!' then I would choose Gakyusha. xD

Tbh I would rather like to use it to get to know people and understand their strategies and concepts of their decks better. Also to offer tips and advice if I may be that imposing. xD

It just misses the flare of the opponent being able to communicate with you like in any other RL TCG. There you can talk and chat with eachotehr while he or she is whooping your ass. lol

I agree, the point of a multiplayer game is to be social, right?  Even just a "lobby" type chat would be nice while you're waiting for an opponent.

What?! You mean there are actually PEOPLE on the other end?  I don't believe it!  Pictures or it didn't happen!

On topic, I would love a chat box - though having the option to toggle it on or off will limit the amount of complaining you'll get from people who don't like getting trash-talked.

Re : In game chat

you could also instead of just toggling off and on for trash talkers, if certain players repeatedly do it to someone there could be a "mute" button in that case

Re : In game chat

the only problem with an in-game chat would be that the average time for each battle will increase.. i don't know if that's a negative economic aspect to Feerik..

i'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome to chat with your opponent, but maybe limiting chat to 1 line per turn or something, people wouldn't be able to abuse..

I'm pretty sure the timer bar won't change at all though.  Most people on the internet don't say too incredibly much, and clicking in between typing shouldn't pose a problem... right?

Though, I wonder if a client program will ever be made for Eredan, rather than flash.  Would solve a lot of issues.
