Chat suggestion.
I've just visited the chat used by some players. If you want to avoid adds and all colors, have a large chat windows, i suggest you to use IRC webchat client (we do it on french side and it's great).
Visit http://webchat.quakenet.org/ and join englisheredan to try it.

Or, you could go where all the other english players already are. No one else complains about it. Make your own judgement, but I can tell you now that the IRC chat is gonna be pretty empty.

If you would have taken the time to examine the site, instead of come in and jump to conclusions, you would have realized that big box on the left can be closed out by clicking the Red X on bottom of the left side tabs.
Staring and a blank screen waiting for someone to type isn't all that much better. Boring is not exciting.

I can only agree that xat chat is kind of flashy and colorful, but I do like the Avatars in there. They help visualise who is typing instead of reading a line of text to find out who said what. Though I do not see it necessary to move to a new chat room, especially since this one is already pretty lively.
