i wanted to get some opinions on this matter so here we go.
the person who is "lucky" enough not to start the battle actually controls the next 3 draws "round 2,3 and 4"
how do people feel about losing 3 round draws because you went first?

Winning isn't everything... It's the only thing!

Hmm, going first and choosing corect target also gives one hell of advantage, you control oponents turns 2 and 3 that way mostly.

It all depends on what kind of deck you have. On an average deck I have to agree with you. Whoever goes second has the advantage. But....
Some competitive decks have an advantage by going first.
As an example. characters like Telender and Pilkim have really good chances of killing in 1 turn the opponent's character in the very first turn due to their Turn bonuses, and even more if they can pick the "weakest" character.
But ,of course, if you don't have a deck able to kill in 1 turn then you will surely feel uneasy by getting the 1st turn in most situations. Unless you are facing the exact 1 turn killer decks I mentioned....:)
( Trust me, a Turn 1 Pilkim casting a double Rain of Death is something you will want to avoid. )
In an average deck, going second is a very important fact if you are facing something like a completely leveled The Pack deck.

The above post says it all really. The random initiative is just like any other card game really. You roll/flip for initiative for the game. If it really bothers you, you can try increasing your chance to play first by using a character with Initiative +1, like Akutsai.

What? If you go first you can only choose the first round. The second round taps another character on each side, meaning what the Turn 2 player chooses also decides what characters will be played round 3. And even then, in round 4, the turn 2 player has initiative again.
The person in round 1 can spare them self some hate by throwing out their opponents order, but the second turn player ultimately has more of an effect on turns 3 and 4 . People who have setups that 1 hit KO are a different story ofc, but the most a first turn character can do normally, is pick a character of an order 2 or 3 instead of your order 1 character.

Mercenaries and trophies are underrated.
