prices for booster packs.....

is this an error...  4 cards cost 120 fee'z  12 cards cost 400 fee'z  12/4=3  so small pack*3=big pack  120*3=360 fee'z  so that means im paying 40 less fee'z buying 3 small packs to get the same amount of cards as 1 big pack

granted the big pack does insure you get 1 rare and a chance at an experience card in EVERY other tcg ive playes/heard of buying the larger pack usualy gives a discounted price compared to buying several smaller packs so figured i would ask......

Re : prices for booster packs.....

It doesn't make much sense , does it?

I never really understood why it is like this.

When you buy boosters your aim should be to pick a rare card simply because most common and uncommon cards are too cheap.

A single 12-card pack gives 1 sure rare, and 11 sure cheap cards for 400 feez.
On the other hand the 4-card pack gives 4 random cards for 120 feez.

Needless to say it is much better to buy the smaller boosters.
Even if you pick only 1 rare card in 3 smaller boosters you are spending 40 feez less.

Re : prices for booster packs.....

yeah i would sugest lowring the cost of the larger booster to 300 fee'z so buy buying the larger one your getting a 60 fee'z discount thats what... right around 15% off the price of buying 3 packs.

however in most tcg's it would be more like....

small pack (4 cards) 120 fee'z
large pack (16 cards) 360 fee'z

so that purching 3 packs at once gives 1 free pack totaling 4 packs for the price of 3.

You fail to understand that a booster pack secures you a rare card, whereas the 4 card packs tend to be shitty uncommons and commons only. Also from what I understand Legendary cards can only be pulled from Booster Packs.

Re : prices for booster packs.....

Not every rare is a good card what means if for any reason you pull a cheap rare you are wasting 400 feez for almost nothing in return.

I don't know what is the actual chance of pulling a rare from the smaller packs but i still think it is better to buy them.

@bleachman: You can pull legendary cards from smaller boosters too.

Re : prices for booster packs.....

1st i do realize buying the larger pack gaurantee's a rare (possibly the worst rares but a rare none the less) however buying multiple smaller packs will increase the chance of getting a rare and possibly one from each pack. so gaurantee 1 rare that your uncommons might be better than or get a prety good chance at getting 1 rare with the possibility of getting 3  hhmm prety sure i know what ild choose.

2nd this isnt that hard its basic marketing. give someone an option to spend very little on your product (the small pack). then give them the option to spend alot more but at a discounted rate. those able to spend more will certainly buy the larger pack, those that wouldnt normaly spend more will now more than likely do it, those not very likely to spend any money well they wouldn't spend it regardless the prices but they will be more inclined to do more of the surveys and free rewards from the rewards progam and earn more fee'z. and all of this means 1 happy players and 2 more money over all for the game (even though they had given the discount)

just dont see why every other TCG (IRL and Online) see's this but not eredon thats why i started asking if it was a mistake.

i think they should make different packs, more than the two available now...makes it easier for everyone to get certain cards, knowing they are in a certain pack. Hence, more chances of getting those high value cards, and making the market a little more fair for newcomers. Lets say 3-4 packs, with different guilds...or something

That will be done when a new expansion comes in. As far as i've seen, now we're in Fallen from the sky "edition" that shows the three guilds trying to reach the strange stone that fell. I don't think we'll get packs entirely of items, characters or from a determined guild. It doesn't seem logic if you think of the cards as a game and a story in progress at the same time (thinking about MTG expansions like Legions, with characters only and so).

Story wise It makes a lot of sense if you open a booster with Selene, Fireball, Lighting Bolt and Freeze, right? smile

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with selling a booster of item or character-only cards.

It makes a lot of sense. At the same tine Selene was travelling, the mages were casting spells wink

Ok, so next you will want a "Pack" that lets you pick the exact cards you want...
If you want any particular card, go to the Market... it's there for something.

Did that happen in the actual story of Eredan?
If it didn't then it is not accurate story wise and you totally lost your point...

The only relation between the boosters and the actual story is the edition.
That is all there is to it.

There is nothing wrong with selling boosters of specific guilds for example.

I never played a TCG that gave you the option to buy cards from a determined part of the set... but well, good luck trying. And i really mean it, it's not sarcasm.

Re : prices for booster packs.....

The concept is basic: you pay more to be sure to have 1 rare and 4 uncommon in a 12 cards booster pack. This certainty is priced 40 Feez by the staff.

You can find this good or bad, it is your choice to open any kind of booster.

When you open 10 four cards boosters and find only common cards (yes, no luck, it happens), you may want to pay a little more and be certain to have a rare card.

And yes, you can have 4 legendaries in a 4 cards booster, that cannot happen in a 12 cards booster.

Given the fact that most uncommon cards are cheap ones I don't see a reason to buy the 12-card booster.

Either way, I am really curious as to what is the chance to pick a rare in the smaller pack.

Re : prices for booster packs.....

I buy them now and then with the free feez if I have 120. I can honestly say I've never seen a rare.

To make it worth it, you have to assume its in the marketing of the packs.

The 4 card packs probably have a 1 in 4 or a 1 in 5 chance, if not worse, to gain a rare.

So to guarantee a rare with 4 card boosters, you would have to buy at least 4 packs costing you 480 feez. Plus, the chances of uncommons would be similar. in a 12 pack you get 4 uncommons. In a 4 pack, the chances would have to equal 4 uncommon in 4 packs.

The few packs I 've gotten...maybe 5 now to test this, are usually consisting of 3 common and 1 uncommon....which'd follow this trending.

So the % probably are something like, at best (probably worse than this):

4 packs:
Rare: 1/16 = 6.25%
Uncommon: 4/16 = 25%
Common: 11/16 = 68.75%

12 packs
Rare: 1/12 = 8.3%
Uncommon: 4/12 = 33.3%
Common: 7/12 = 58.3%

Note the big swing in cards earned is uncommons...which can be worth a bit sometimes.

Now here's the bigger thing than just the % numbers. These are normal distributions...which means, after buying a large amount, this'd be your average. Where 4-packs are random, there is no guarantee you'll see a rare card for 10 packs or more...whereas the 12 pack you always get one, no chances whatsoever.

So...40 feez for a guaranteed rare, plus the chance at getting some really good uncommons (think [card]All is fair in love[/card], [card]Derf Geiss's Double Blade[/card], etc)...definately tips it in favor of 12 packs...

If there were no luck in TCG, how boring would that be?

Re : prices for booster packs.....

You would need to buy at least 100 smaller boosters to check this.
The bigger the number of packs purchased the better your chances to actually get near the accurate probabilities.

Anyway, your math could be totally off given you only bought 5 smaller packs.

Also you can't guarantee a rare in 4-card boosters no matter what.
And keep in mind a decent rare can totally overshadow a full pack of uncommon cards.

Re : prices for booster packs.....

I really don't have much complains about the 4-card/12-card issue. Paying more to make sure to get a rare and 4 uncommons seems fair to me.

But I believe that the boosters prices that are too high! Comparing to ***biiiiipppp*** bip (to stay on iTCGs) the minimum package (3 euros) there can buy 70 credits - that are enough to buy a rare-guaranee-50-credit booster, plus a normal-20-credit booster.

Here, In Eredan, the minimum package (5 euros) gets 390 feez, that aren't enough even to get the 12-card-rare-guarantee booster - it becomes possible due to the feez given by sponsors.

In my opinion, the prices should be adjusted to guarantee, at least, that the minimum package could get a choice to the players: 5 4-card boosters, or a 12-card and a 4-card booster

yeah it is kinda crazy that prices here are more expinsive than IRL tcg's  $4 gets you 10 cards there here $7 for 390 feez's dont get you a 12 pack and them are in real life cards that have monetary value some being sold for more than $200 (alot more depending on the card/wich tcg its from)

Must be scientific proof that 4-cards booster packs are superior...
