Mages lineup

This weeks event gave me a lot of food for thoughts, usually you play 1 out of 10/15 games vs Noz, and now it was like 4 in 5 and 5th was kotoba mages.

So what are best mages around? (only speaking about pack ones, don't know special ones (like erevan) well enough to evaluate).

Nr. 1 Prophet, being dead doesn't stop him from being the best, magic number 3 in spirit is all you need and boosting spirit of other Noz is even better. Now the bad part - punny stats, like every other wizard just worse, 1 defense at lv 3 is not a lot. A must in every Noz wizard deck, perfect build being Prophet-aeronaut-almost every other Noz wizard.

Nr.2 Pilkim (but I'm open to discusion on this) Most of other wizards do one or other thing better (ashlisk better with draconian spells, aeronaut has 3 spirit, Toran has better bonuses, But Pilkim has perfect combination of it all - good stats, good bonus with good spread, and usefull ability, that works even on non numbered draconic spells, like "attack with magic"

Nr.3 Toran the faithless (still open for discusion)
Mad bonuses, good stats (5/7 attack on pure mage is a lot) +1 spirit vs mages is good company. Bad part is the mercenary part, so no Noz mage bonuses)

Colective NR.4
Ashlisk, Aerouant, Anriena, Watchmaker, Marlok the repentant

Ashlisk is great if you see correct spells in your hand, but for that you need specially tuned deck and some luck, without his spells he has subpar stats and mostly useless bonus compared to other options (like pilkim)
Aerouant has two setings - with prophet and without. With prophet he is unstopable (4 spirit, 5 with bonus) without prophet he is average (Ok, has 3 spirit).
Watchmaker - 3 spirit, and nothing more usefull (level him and forget)
Anriena - Solid, but after everyone gets to lv 3-4 she becomes weak link of your deck and target to to every mages slaying specialist looking to weaken your defences.
Marlok - For Zil decks with only him as wizard, in Noz decks his ability hurts too much, and his bonus is not that great.

The rest
Aku and marlok is just lv 1 material for leveling, and Malyss is a great tracker, but I hate trackers too much to even mention them.

Re : Mages lineup

You left ut one of the coolest mages out there... Abyssien. He's not strong, but damn he can get you those nasty spell cards back easily. Also he works well against ther mages as he heals 2-3HP against opponents casting spells.

Also you are utterly wrong about Golemarlok. He is one badass mage. He can not only throw a fistfull of fire at you but also punch you in the face right after that.

If you are up for a game, you can face my Zil combo some time. <3

Re : Mages lineup

Abysien is not from packs, and Golemarlok is not full mage, that is why they are not on the list.
+ Bomzar in deck with Prophet and Aerouant would eat Golemarlok for dinner big_smile.

+ Give me 20000 for prophet and about 100000 for full spells lineup (fireball, burn in hell, dragon stuff), when i will face your Zil combo.

Re : Mages lineup

Don't forget about KYOOOOOOOSHIRO!  At 10000 crystals, he's anything but unobtainable.  Unfortunately, his real potential isn't unlocked until his big buddy/slave monster Okooni joins the fray.  Paired with Okooni, not only is he an awesome pyromancer and decent mage, but with 6/8 attack and 3 defense, he throws blows pretty well, too.

Again, Kyoshiro is not from packs, and you both forgot Erevan and Elhoradana (and I don't think most of you know who she is  big_smile

Re : Mages lineup

Erm, considering a lot of people use erevent at least (the others rarely since the decks are too uncommon...) I would count them in your list.

And you are wrong. We all want the big boobed mercenary mage. Indeed we do.
