How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

Given the fact that I'm running a Zil Marauder deck right now, it's not going to be the easiest thing in the world....

Been wracking my brain over this one, have a few different conclusions on what to do. Thought I'd come and see what others have come up with/already done.

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

I was thinking of throwing together a new deck to level them but that just seems like suicide at level 13+ since the ranking is by level and not hero levels...:/

Once I get a watchmaker I'd be glad to run evo with you.  I'll let you know when I pick one up.

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

You can technically run apostle in any deck consistent of two attackers and her. Just make sure the two attackers are strong enough to pick off your opponents, as obviously she wont and throw in some healing things as well.

You could run a pure warrior deck with her and throw in that hammer for her to mess around with. She will become a warrioress then and kick some butt like the others on her team. tongue

Watchmaker is fortunately decent enough to stand as a mage, so just dump him in some mage deck that doesn't use too many class specific spells. smile

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

Hammer wont work, Human/Ice elf only.

I thought of that first smile

If I run two Zil, more than likely Warrior-Marauders, I'm wondering how worthwile it would be to toss in some thuergy cards to help her out or not. It seems a bit of a waste, unless maybe throw in a few heal cards to help the other two cards survive maybe...

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

Isn't she human? O_o Rofl never noticed. xD She sure looks human to me. >.> Oh well.

You could give it a go. I'd suggest some heavy defensive marauders during the time you train her. Helps her keep them alive better and will make them stay around longer to dish out and beat the opposing characters.

Otherwise another possibility is a simple good old Mage/Priest deck. Equips and some cards work for both of them. Add some thuergy heals and you have a nasty little magic pew pewer. big_smile

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

I have another suggestion. Priest/Marauder? Use Kriss. He is a bit expensive (netting 18k crystals) but a priest and a marauder. Thus you wouldn't have to worry too much about not being able to use decent theurgy cards in your deck.

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

For the Watchmaker I used Golemarlok so that the spells could be used by someone else but my number of victories underwent a serious fall during that time.

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

I acutally did most of my training for apostle in a 3 priest deck with 2 nomads. Used all the trianing room games + some versus bleachman. Really didn't take all that long. Even losing games I could get 4-6 xp, so to get 480 xp you're looking at maybe 120 games tops.

Plus, placing in a levelling deck, you get some other lvl 1 cards up a few levels, and you can sell them for profit big_smile

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

I actually got the same problem right now levelling up Apostle of Destiny. Since I am always losing anyways mixing a Cleric in my group, I thought to myself, why don't I just create a cheap pure cleric deck?

Saphyra
Lady Jane
Apostle of Destiny

3 It's an order
2 It's time
3 Pray of Healing
3 Divine Intervention
2 Protective Spirit (slightly more expensive than other Theurgies)
2 Healing Balm
3 Divine Fist (just for the surprise factor)
Other misc stuffs

The idea is just to keep the order activation and keep Apostle of Destiny alive until I run out of cards. I find out that even though I'm losing, I'm quite consistent to have 4-5 points level per character at the end of the game. Beats having the Apostle gaining 1-2 points at any other decks. With the healings, I am able to get more order activations in using It's an order! and It's time tongue

I'll slowly replace other misc stuff with more defensive actions/healing as I go along.

Just putting another idea into the discussion wink

Team spirit does help smile I think I encountered you once in the room. It is just funny when other people have a very hard time to kill of the Apostle. Usually she's the last one standing.

How do you managed to sell your cards? do you need to buy a booster first? (on another topic)

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

I buy a booster a week or so. Basically, since I stopped playing warcraft, I figure I can put my monthly fees into that.

But if not, you can buy lvl 1 cards for relatively cheap. A lot of the 200-500 crystal heros can be sold at lvl 2 for a few thousand or so, depending on the card and the demand.

A few days of grinding up, you can resell for some crystals. So long as you cram your deck wiht 3 its an order and 3 it is times, you can always get at least 3 or 4 xp, so getting to lvl 2 isnt long, even if youre losing.

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

The fact that the Nomads are released is I think a big help for upping the Apostle and so is the training room and gaining It's time with trophies. I had to do it without and it was really a mess. Cleric decks weren't that good.

Re : How to Level Apostle/Watchmaker

I'm still a bit frightened by doing the watchmaker.

I have some decent Noz heros and spell cards burrowed away, but I know very well it'll be just painful to finish.

On the upside, I'll get a better understanding of opposition decks. I mean, I've seen preist decks in play now, but after really sitting there for 50 games, praying for certain cards that I don't have enough to come, I got a better feeling for what and when things will play now.
