Merging Foil

I've read that is possible to merge a foil card with another simple card and obtain a new foil card.
My question is: is this valid for any cards or only for merging allowed? i.e. can i merge my foil dodge with a normal card like Ahlem to obtain a foil Ahlem?Or am i just dreaming? tongue

Certain cards have to be merged to get upgraded.
If you merge a non-foil with a foil card the result is a foil card.
Example: Foil Ergue + Non-foil Bigrage = Foil Cigue

It is not possible to merge cards randomly.
There are some specific combinations.
