Jorusiens and Direct damage

[card]Evil Jorusien[/card] and it's other form [card]Good Jorusien[/card] both affect damages. What about direct damages? Or self inflected?

To put it better, rather than saving up for the cards needed to make a Sarah deck (Meister Galene is often sold out and pricey), I got to thinking what tank based deck I could make. My answer was Wreckwood. But the problem is that my current copy is level 4, the level when he starts hurting himself for attack ups.

How would Good Jorusien work with this effect?

well, jorusiens reduce direct damage effects, if wreckwood takes direct damge, the jorusiens should reduce the damage

And that's what Wreckwood deals himself to power up. I guess that would negate his entire power then.

I'm sorry for asking but I play other card games(mainly MTG). But in those games they tend to say "reduce/protect damage dealt by enemies". I wasn't sure if Jorusien protects from self hitting effects.

Re : Jorusiens and Direct damage

yes they do

but as you said before if you negate the damage, also, you negate the attack bonus
