Was using a pure mage deck against unknown courtesans.
I had initiative. Prophet vs Psalm.
Prophet - Luminosity > Rain of Death
Psalm - Old score (only) > Pulled out Sitar Hero from discard pile
What happened was Luminosity has no effect on the Old Score since it is an item (OK).
Old Score pulled out Sitar Hero from discard pile.
Rain of Death activated and damaged Psalm.
Sitar Hero activated damaged Prophet and my bench. (??)
By right, luminosity states that the next Non-Item card played by the opposing character is ignored. Though it has no effect on Old Score but wouldn't it have effect on negating Sitar Hero's damage activation?
Or was it that the character did not play the Sitar Hero but the Old Score played it, thereby Luminosity had no effect. Was this mechanic intended?
Or I am not fully understanding that luminosity does not work like other counter cards like Obesity, Witchblade's Secret, etc.

i think it is that you luminosity effect activate first
he detect no card can be disabled so it didn't work
after that, the old score pulling the sitar hero
there is no sitar hero when the luminosity take effect so it didnt ignore it

But would obesity work the same?
Because Nehant undead characters like Cxes would play a necrotic card from discard pile but obesity would block that effect. Why won't it be the same as Luminosity?
And obesity works in a way that even though the opp char has played item but an action after that, the action would still be blocked no matter.
So luminosity is a special cased card? That it can be ignored when playing an item and drawing a non-item card later to avoid the effect?
Interesting.

i believe in this case its not the cards fault but the game mechanics... there overall seems to be a problem with cards that are summoned by other cards in a turn... obesity would block next action, but if you play something, something and then comes a summoned action then the action goes unblocked even though it is indeed the next action...

There is a paragraph for this case in the rules :
http://wiki.eredan.com/index.php?title= … el.C3.A9es
It hasn't been translated in the English rules.
This states :
A card can counter only cards shown on the board at the time it activates.
A card that is displayed after activation of others cards can't be affected by theses cards.
The card activated after the display of the new card can affect the new card.
Typical example :
[card]Magic shield[/card] and [card]the hungry void[/card] to cast a spell (like [card]lightning bolts[/card] level 3)
If the spell is put on the board after magic shield activation, the spell is played normally.
If the spell is put before magic shield activation, the spell is ignored.

I see that there is a rule like this in French. I missed that part, thanks for clarifying.
So that means that if Magic Shield is played first and Compendium Secret pulls a spell card from the discard pile to be played after Magic Shield, then I can see that it is near impossible to block such a threat. Cards being played from the grave are cool and unstoppable. Strategy added, thanks T_T

Except that magic shield will block the secret of compendium which is a spell
