The Pilgrim Mechanism

I played with this guy and found something strange
the turn in my initiative
[card]Aelide[/card] play [card]cup of life[/card]+[card]triumph[/card]
opposing [card]aerouant[/card] play [card]the pilgrim[/card]
so the order cup of life > pilgrim > triumph
but as the cup of life active opposing aerouant get + 1 def
then get + 1 att after triumph activated

Here is the list of opposing card if can help
