I'm having a really hard time countering this card. It seems like nothing works and it does so much damage and heals the caster to full HP everytime, I find it a bit ridiculous.

The Awakening card is supposed to ignore all card effects attached to both characters. I've tried that several times to counter vital syphon but it appears to have no effect. It appears vital syphon is calculated after the turn is over, which I think should be adjusted accordingly.

The Ambassador card has no effect either. I had one character with 3 vital syphons on him and a lot of other corruption spells, so I knew it would do an insane about of ridiculous damage which should be enough for Ambassador to finish off my opponent. Well it, again, had no effect. My health went down to -37 and of course my opponent received full health.

Even Deflection does not work as it seems vital syphon's damage is calculated AFTER combat, thus rendering any counter useless.

Please do not suggest "kill them faster" or "mental prison." If those 2 options are the only way to beat vital syphon then it needs to be looked at.

Hello Bleachman, I wish you would not resort to childish comments, let's keep this discussion a little more mature please, thank you.

Nonetheless, good idea, I had forgotten about that card, unfortunately that means I'll have to carry 3 of them with me all the time which will jumble up my deck. Now that Ishaia is banned from ELO it wouldn't really be great against anything else.

Unfortunately I think this card is in the ranks of port where it is just pretty much unstoppable, and even if you do manage to counter the damage is already done.

I'm just really confused as to why this card does so much damage AND heals, it's insane!

Smells like apoth in disguise.

Anyway, you don't need to use 3 [card]Clumsiness[/card], you just need 1 to remove the [card]Desolation of the Heart[/card] on the character with 2 or 3 Syphons. Of course, the character will die but the Syphon will be gone.

Decks with high enough damage output can often kill Dimizar or Iron Mask before the character with attached Vital Syphons has to fight again. Strong marauder decks and Sap Heart warrior decks can usually one shot the mages.

But the problem is if 2 vitals are attached by a single character its like a instant heal dmg attack oh yeah perversion can make life annoying

Sap hearts warriors? with [card]Perversion[/card] they can't to nothing , same versus strong marauders the mages can survive .....
[card]clumsiness[/card] it's the only way to remove [card]desolation of the heart[/card] and the nehant mage strategy will be lost , that's why i play [card]desolation of the heart[/card] the turn when i'm sure the opponent character will die , not before but the opponent can imagine this and block me the same playing [card]clumsiness[/card] for last card and remove [card]desolation of the heart[/card]
i play [card]vital syphon[/card] in the same way ......
however , the nehant mage is a bit unstable and i play [card]clumsiness[/card] against [card]dark stone heart[/card] , the other problem of this deck .....

Yes, perversion allows your mage to survive, but that doesn't mean you have perversion in your hand when you need it. It's still possible to lose to strong marauder decks and sap heart warrior decks.
