With the latest stuff, I've been itching to play a Pirate Mage Lightning Deck, and with the addition of Lightning Chain, do you think it is possible?

Bragan
Mylad

3 Static Charge
3 Dance of the Thunder Snakes
3 Lightning Chain

3 Lightning Rod

What else do you think would need to be included?

I think you should replace "Ye'oldie Captain" with the new thunder king. And then add three of his spears (2nd upgrade ofcourse).

Do that and add Bolts lvl 3

Hello...:) those two mages got their work cut out with only 20 cards. their defense are so low and they don't have a decent Spirit to slice through other mage.

you can add some [card]Ice Barrier[/card] to even the playing field against those marauders/OHK and for those nasty mage/ROD you can reduce some of their spirit.:/ you can use [card]Captain Al Killicrew[/card] -1 spirit ver.
wish we have more courtesan in pirates because [card]philosophical debate[/card] would be a nice asset...
[card]crown of the thunder king[/card] would be nice...

I really like [card]dominate the opponent[/card] maybe this will work along with [card]Lightning Rod[/card], [card]crown of the thunder king[/card], [card]starboard[/card] combo.... a mini tadaa!!!

this complicated things [card]starboard[/card] no craftsman to throw this card or [card]the pirate code[/card] no powder tokens cant decide on the two...
its too much cards on one deck...:P

another problem [card]crown of the thunder king[/card] VS level 4 [card]Mylad[/card] is not human anymore

now how to divide this cards...

I'm trying to get three chain.. and ill try out some more strategies out of Killicrew

by the way these two are mages IHAS deck, court deck, and discard deck will be a walk through and our fearless captain will carry all the items in her back...

Hello! its me again... Thank you for letting me use your post you started the topic anyway..

I've been making my strategies while im asleep, and i came up with a new deck and hoping it will be a competitive deck for elo someday...

note: these is a theme deck which it means anything i put here is related to the cards and guild it represent. otherwise i would buy 3 [card]Rain of Death[/card]/[card]Last Word[/card] and make a NOZ mage deck... thank you

Main porpose of the deck is to reduce opponents spirit and shooting bolts as fast as posible while staying alive for as long as you can, tipically a pirate theme....

[card]Captain Al Killicrew[/card] -1 spirit version (wish there will be more mage to join the pirates soon)
[card]Bragan[/card] lightning version (like his perveted look)
[card]Mylad[/card] level 3 (I prefer her to be human first)

-Spells-

3 [card]Lightning Chain[/card] "key card" shoot them anytime you can...
3 [card]Static Charge[/card] "BBZZZZZZTTTT every Battle"
2 [card]Dance of the Thunder Snakes[/card] "Finishing Blow"
1 [card]philosophical debate [/card] I'll look for more compatible card for this
1 [card]stone ritual[/card] I prefer Mylad dies instead of bragan

-Items-
3 [card]Lightning Rod[/card] ye! ol captain can carry this hope its always at first turn
2 [card]crown of the thunder king[/card] something to spend your crystals need to find better items for this

-Action-
1 [card]Storm[/card] at desperate time you'll need this... when there is lightning, a storm will come soon...
1 [card]reborn[/card] I think this will be a shocking moment
2 [card]dominate the opponent [/card] yep i know i should have put tadaa!!! or fall back but im sticking to my theme or [card]Ice Barrier[/card] (to much spell and only two mage to work them out)
1 [card]moneyed[/card] another round please....;)

only seven cards in the deck goes to the discard pile the rest are permanent [card]Moneyed[/card] is my next option a mini mill to recycle some bolts, Hope you like it!

I already got all the card except two [card]lightning chain[/card] hot card don't come cheap...

You can't use [card]starboard[/card], it is craftmen only... you might wanna try another [card]philosophical debate[/card] or another [card]Dance of the Thunder Snakes[/card] rather than spending your cristals on a card your characters can't use...

Yes! your right already tried that... and its like a piece of meat stuck on your teeth and can't get out... forgot to edit it sorry!!!

and no problem with [card]starboard[/card] already got three i only need [card]multitasking[/card] and i can make a port deck

[card]Lightning chain[/card] an AOE what are they thinking this is the only card that make a difference on "pirate mages" now i cant chain another item with it.....
they should fix this mess.

they are thinking it was op as hell. anyone could boost it and it chained. using erevants plus 2 spell damage twice. or using mages grand staff. just ridiculously op. although pirate mages could use more

Your right... but bragan and mylad are so weak they need some boost on their ability they are always down to 4 to 5 life after first turn the next turn is crucial to kill or be killed... its a suicide and only ol captain are left to be alive at 2nd turn.... unlike Noz mages who got armors that heals, defense boost, and draconian buff .... at least they should make the card more user friendly to weak pirate "lightning" mage...:mad:

because Noz mages got buffs and cheezee magic, Kotoba mages focus on altering stats, Sap mages defence and backfire effect, Zil mages is for deck manipulation sorry for the nomad but they can heal though
I'm not competing with the all mighty Noz, but most of the pirate mage cards and items are focusing on damage like Noz...

I try this deck on my own and suck so hard: with alla pirates, and with thunder king instead Al.

They have shitty spirit stat for do some sort of damage, the max i did was 2....fail deck

that was my comment on my first post...
You should have use the -1 spirit of our captain...:D but it was good when [card]lightning chain[/card] was not AOE yet... I'm doing suicide with bragan can do 2x8 damage, 2x7 damage, and 2x6 damage on good runs yaaarrrr.....:lol:

Hello! this maybe my last post on this topic >_< i don't wanna finish this without a conclusion...

After a week of trial and error on making a good "pirate lightning mage deck" I'm really sad to say that this one is an average deck...

Here are my record

-100 battle- its much easier to make a percentage

-54 wins 46 loss 0 draw- modifications 23 times

- the highlights -
all are base on battles and minor modification and without removing characters and the lightning theme
Note: some unfinished deck were included in the evaluation

-Mercenary- Warriors deck--------90% win rate
Tempus deck -------40% win rate
-Kotoba- Lord Gak's deck------80% win rate
Tracker's deck -------50% win rate
Crow deck------------60% win rate
-Nomads- Solarian deck------- 80% win rate
Eclipse deck----------60% win rate
-Noz- ROD deck------------- 0% win rate
Witchblades----------20% win rate
Draconians-----------50% win rate
-Zil's- Beatdown deck------ 0% win rate
The pack------------- 99% win rate
Discard deck---------70% win rate
-Sap- Quickdraw------------20% win rate
IHAS------------------90% win rate
-Pirates- Armada---------------80% win rate
Port deck-------------50% win rate
-Others- Golem-Craftman-------50% win rate
Courtesan ------------30% win rate

Some other deck are unrated about 75% estimated win rate

-Chracters- comments

[card]Captain Al Kilicrew[/card] What else can you do she's not a mage
[card]Bragan[/card] with 1 def his too old for battles
[card]Mylad[/card] She's more a Sap Heart than a pirate

Overall: this deck is not for Elo anytime soon with one less mage on the group means spells and combos are a lot harder to cast... plus the sudden change of [card]lightning chain[/card] to an AOE dramatically change the outcome of battle...
its a fun theme deck but more on a suicide type of deck and hoping you got more points in the end when all character are dead...

Thanks for field testing!

I was still waiting for the cost of Lightning Chain to come down, so haven't had a chance to actually try it. It seems it'll be one of those decks that sits awaiting future releases unfortunately...
