The Best Defense...

The card: [card]The Best Defense...[/card] is supposed to give a bonus based on printed defense, right?  I saw Lord Galmara getting a +10 out of it in a courtesan's deck.  Is this a bug?

It gives an another +1 attack for each card that gives a defense bonus. so if you playing courtesans that's 3 for each of the ice barriers on ishaia, 3 for each of the overwhelming victories, cause Galmara is kotoba and gets defense from that. even if something like asajiro or Xin was in play it would be an addtional +1 for each of them.  card is pretty buff.
