Hi
not so much of a bug but what I think should be a reworking the game mechanics.
Councellor Ishaia (probably misspelt name) says she gets +1 to non aoe spell effects.
So why does she get the buff to defence spells such as wall of ice? This affects the whole party and so is clearly AOE. I think this mechanic should be changed so either she doesnt get the buff or her text and mechanic is reworded.

wall of ice is not an AOE spell.
So Ishaïa + wall of ice = Defence +2 for all is friends.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_of_effect
"Area of effect (or AoE) is a term used in many role-playing and strategy games to describe attacks or spells that affect multiple targets within a specified area."
Well technically it is an AoE spell. Area of Effect or in other words it affects more characters than just the two battling. It just like Unleash Hell for example - UH affects all of your opponent living characters, while the barrier affects all of your characters.
He should've made a suggestion to classify Ice Barrier as an AoE spell.

"Of course they don't want that (adding more crystals to the game) to happen, because then the outrageous card prices would drop"
So MUCH stupidity in one sentence xD

maybe then the spell should be changed as it is affecting an area. This also applies to many other cards, but only really is important in spells.
I have played many card games so know an area of effect when I see it.

We all understand what AoE means here. AoE is used as verbage in this game, not to describe the effects of the card. Yes, it does describe the effects of cards like Lightning Bolts, we don't be to be reminded of that. The fact is, the term "AoE" is used, in this game, to describe only those few spells. It is used to label a mechanic, not an effect, the mechanic being the inability to chain a spell. There is no need to change the text, as Wall of Ice clearly does not state that it is an "AoE" spell, regardless of it's effects. We all know what "basic" attack means, too, but thats not what it means in this game. Its all about terminology.

This isn't about terminology its about a card that is an AoE spell gaining a bonus not meant for it. it targets more than one character therefore it shouldn't get the extra boost.
But steven is also right it Wall of ice does not say AoE on it and it should gain the bonus
But an AoE spell is classified as dealing damage so i think it is fine the way it is

As far as I know, AoE is used as a referrence to damage dealing cards that target more than one character in play. As Ice Barrier does not deal damage, it would not fall undner this game's category of AoE spells/cards.
If you are having troubles against players who play Ishaia and the Ice Barrier cards, browse around the deck and strategy part of our forum. You will surely find a way to beat her...
