The Pack Deck Combo

[card]Bloodsword[/card] level 3 warrior buff
[card]Faceless[/card] level 3
[card]Fenrath[/card] level 3

cards

[card]All is fair in love...[/card]  x2
[card]...and war[/card]  x2
[card]Armed and ready[/card]  x2
[card]Dances with Volk[/card]  x3
[card]Bestial[/card]  x3
[card]Fly off the handle[/card]  x2
[card]Blood ties[/card]  x2
[card]Cursed Armor[/card]  x2
[card]Cursed Bigblade[/card]  x2

right now in my deck I don't have
Bestial
Cursed Bigblade ... i use [card]Cursed Blades of Yses[/card] as a substitute
I only have 1 Dances with Volk and i use [card]Dexterity Test[/card] x2 as a substitute and [card]Protect the weak[/card] x3 as a gap filler so i can multiple chain
the logic:
this might not work against high level skilled players but in the testing so far it handles pretty well
I know it's hard to use a deck with no chain cards except fixed combos so the principle of this deck is
Either
First 3 turns
1. At least 1 of your characters must be equiped with both Armor and Blade if possible ( depens on what the opponent has ) if you can equip 2 characters
Following 3-4 turns
Use the combo Fly off the handle + Dances with Volk or Bestial + Dances with Volk, plus you'll have the bonus in attack thanks to Fenrath which you can keep alive or any character if needed thanks to Dances with Wolk
this tactic requires you to discard a lot of cards in the first 3 turns but it pays off because if you survive the first 3 turns, then the following 3 turns you have extra defense bonus and attack, you use Dances with Wolk or Armed and ready depends on how much damage you actually took and if by any chance you play
beyond the 6th round, even if you die the Attack and Defense Bonus will pretty much Win like

Or
Use the combos
All is fair in love... +... and war
Bestial + Fly off the handle or Bestial + Blood ties ( because you get chain for Fenrath and Faceless )
or Fly off the handle + Blood ties
later on use Bestial/Fly off the handle + Dances with Volk
extra cards like Armed and ready for added defense in case you need it
After the first 3 rounds
Bloodsword Attack 17/17 def 4 with Cursed Armor and Blade chain All is fair in love... + ... and war and you have 23/23 attack and 4 def or you can heal
Fenrath Attack 15/17 def 4 with Cursed Armor and Blade + chain attack 21/21 or chain Bestial + Blood ties attack 21/23 or heal
Faceless 18/18 def 5 with Cursed Armor and Blade + chain attack 24/24 or chain Bestial + Blood ties 24/24 attack or heal

well basically that's the idea i think i'll develop on, this and possible some Chain card for alternatives agains Mage based decks
thinking about
[card]Tadaa you're a bunny[/card]
and
[card]Fallback[/card]
really good alternatives to Armed and ready but they cost a lot..... a lot ... and since i can't invest any money in the game because i'm poor.... well.....

this was my ideea and comments suggestions are welcomed
i've gotten like 5 perfects and 20 victories in a row so far with this incomplete version of the deck no Bestial etc. but yeah i think this will only be limited to the level 8-11 rooms

oh and by the way
if you meet me in the training room play me, i'm a really fair player and i will help you level your characters if you do the same i only use a defense based deck in the training room
always fair to those who deserve and help back smile

see you out there

some screenshot of the results of this combo deck so far without some of the important cards i know 80 is not impressive don't comment on that ...

Re : The Pack Deck Combo

Those cursed items are going to be bad for you soon. As the decks you play against get better, the -3 life is generally going to be suicide. That and chaining bestial is strictly better.

Bestial activates immediately, so its worth +6 over 2 turns, as opposed to -3, then +5, and risking a character death, so a net gain of +2 over 2 turns for bigblade. and bestial is a viable chain for all characters, FOTH + bestial for bloodsword, bestial +anything for the other two.
The same goes for the armor, which is worth either -1 on its own, or a +2 only if you have the bigblade, and only on the turn afterwards since it doesn't activate immediately.
So that means that Bestial, on its own, is +6 over two turns, not including other cards it can chain into, while the cursed item chain combo is worth +4 over two turns and increases the chances of your character dying

You have no mage hate, and the characters have low enough spirit as it is, try to fit in a [card]Dark Stone Heart[/card]. I prefer DSH over [card]Nehantic Stone[/card] but its your call

[card]Tadaa! You're a Bunny![/card] is good, it keeps your fenrath alive, which is the key here no? It also screws up [card]kensensei[/card] which can potentially make a 19/21 character on turn 1.

3x Dances with Volks is overkill, its key reason for being in the deck, is to keep fenrath alive on either turn 4 or 5 (depending on if you went first and if your opponent has any idea what they're facing) If they don't take the chance to kill fenrath, just go hard and beat them on the damage race. Just be careful of AoE effects.

Last suggestion is to run [card]Obesity[/card]. Its an excellent card and you only get a -1 on one of your characters when in use (sometimes). It also chains actions so it stabilises your chain orders, a bit.

Re : The Pack Deck Combo

i see good points you're making there
i was thinking about dark stone heart too it's a good addition doesn't cost that much but since you had dances with volk or afford a cheaper alternative with magic shield since agains mages your attack will be enough if they don't use spell to boost their def/based on spirit, meaning if the rush for the kill, so if you're lucky enough mage won't damage you enough, but yeah it is safer

thanks for the tips bro, might get some new ideas for comobos smile

Re : The Pack Deck Combo

again an issue i want to discuss, i don't see the importance of [card]oh i'm good[/card]
i mean your attack is already within the same digits after the first 3 rounds like
max 12/12 bloodsword 13/13 faceless and 10/12 fenrath with no equip or action cards
so why use it for example if youre against a deck that's also based on attack or against characters that have like 5/9 attack and you're just boosting up the opponent's attack, leaving it to chance is better than giving him a higher attack ...

so why use it for example if youre against a deck that's also based on attack or against characters that have like 5/9 attack and you're just boosting up the opponent's attack, leaving it to chance is better than giving him a higher attack ...

Taking your example, say the 5/9 gets +7 attack for the turn (lets say +1 attack from turn order bonus, +6 from a chained combo for damage)
That means it becomes a 12/16, making it possible for them to kill say fenrath or bloodswod.
O!IG! makes it a 14/14, where its now impossible to kill either.

It's a difficult argument, but depends how lucky you are.
In the case of the other two, they benefit from +1 from it with full buffs, bloodsword becomes an 8/8 with +5/+0 so 13/13, same for faceless who becomes 14/14 (6/8 base makes him a 7/7, +2 from blood, +5 from fen)

you're right, it can be a double edged sword, so it takes some care to play.
Depending on the opponent, it can be bad eg. the mirror where you know love and wars are played. But if you're playing against a deck that only plays say things like assassination and shuriken, which don't give 1 sided bonuses, it means they lose their high end damage, and takes luck out of the equation for working out their potential max, then makes love and war a guaranteed +6 damage.

But obviously, the one who gets the most benefit is Fenrath.
with 5 damage he gets +5/+0
O!IG! makes him a 9/9 with bloodsword, meaning he becomes a 14/14 instead of a 10/12 with maximum bonus from his own effect. so a 17/17 with Bestial, and a max of 23/23 with love and war.

A hypothetically effective sequence of play.
t1: bloodsword: love + war
t2: fenrath: bestial + defense card of some sort if neccesary, or just go offense
t3: faceless: Bestial + O!IG!
going into round 4, you should have:
Bloodsword at 13/13, fenrath at 17/17, faceless also on 17/17
and now love and war gives +6 atk to any of your characters

Not anymore, it used to be bugged, now it doesn't do that anymore, you still get your bestial bonuses

Re : The Pack Deck Combo

I used to have a pack deck and had ALOT of success with it. I always had 1 Oh Im Good in there, and agree that 3 dances with volk is overkill. Lose the cursed items definately, they dont work well in this deck - especially on Fenrath. When I played the deck Here is my line up (if i remember it rightly)

3 x Bestial
2 x Runic Gauntlets.
1 x Oh Im good.
2 x Dances with Volk.
2 x Alls Fair...
2 x In Love and War
3 x Fly off the handle
1 x Nehantic stone
1 x Assassination
1 x Time To Die
2 x Armed and Ready

Cant say i found any problems with this build. I even had a few good runs in the tourneys - although now they would just get annihalated.

Quick shout out to all my MSN brethren.

Re : The Pack Deck Combo

yeah sorry to bring up this thread but we could make this a thread were people who play or want to play the pack can get an idea without making more and more threads

okay after some hard work and sales and a little bit of luck here's how my deck stands right now
Okay some discussions appear on this matter
Deck i play right now
[card]Bloodsword[/card] level 3 Warrior Buff
[card]Faceless[/card] level 3
[card]Fenrath[/card] level 3
Cards 3
[card]All is fair in love...[/card]  x2
[card]...and war[/card]  x2
[card]Dances with Volk[/card]  x2
[card]Bestial[/card]  x3
[card]Fly off the handle[/card]  x2
[card]Tadaa you're a bunny[/card] x1
[card]Fallback[/card] x2
[card]Anathematize[/card] x1
[card]Backstab[/card] x1
[card]Crown of the border[/card] x1
[card]Blood ties[/card] x1
[card]Steal[/card] x1
[card]To lay bare[/card] x1

I also have and can mix up the following cards
[card]Assassination[/card]+[card]Time to die[/card]
[card]Dark stone heart[/card]
[card]Blood ties[/card]  x2 instead of one of the cards
[card]Scroll of immobility[/card] x2
[card]Obesity[/card] x1
[card]Shell[/card] x3
[card]Oh! I'm good[/card] x2

Okay now the question is i have a number of options so i can't seem to find a fixed combo that would work there's a number of possibilities this deck can be used , a lots of combos can be created so i guess there's no perfect one but i see this collection of card as the best affordable pack deck around

opinions, ideas, critics how this can be combo-ed , anything on the matter is welcomed
