Well I grinded relentlessly for this card, but of course anything Feerik gives out for free is obviously not meta game worthy.
Case in point I tried a deck with this new character, fought a Zil (of course) first thing they do is use "Steal" to disable my new card.
I won't be using this card again, and those who can't get it, don't worry, it's not worth it. Just another useless collector's card that has absolutely no value.
Agree with your post. Discards were bad enough, they didn't need an upgrade, many people are unhappy about this (besides those silly discard players that can't think of an actual counter strategy).
I am forced to make super heavy beat down decks just cause of this new release. Of course anyone with ANS can make any deck they want and still be top ELO (did I mention most of them have Prestige too?). It seems like the richest players win instead of an actual strategy.
No when May 15th comes and Diablo 3 is released, I won't be playing this silly game anymore.
The trolls are out! Of course the ones that disagree with me only voted #2 cause they think I am a troll, guess again! Beat down decks are no longer an issue with the release of "Indigestion." But take a look at the results, people are sick of weekly cards being the best meta game option (i.e. indigestion).
Trolls, I think you failed.
just posted a long thread and it didn't show up, testing to see if i'm banned yet...
Sorry all you idiots are stupid, I bet you spent money on this game, LOL!
I definitely agree with all the OP's ideas. Sentence has been a plague for nomad decks making any heals pretty much obsolete. Sure sometimes you get lucky but a less than decent player knows when an obesity is coming and can act accordingly.
Some cards I'd like to add to the list are:
weapons at will: two cards can counter this, they are dissidence and obesity. dazzle or any of the other attack switching cards don't work because weapons at will activates on the last set of cards (meaning even if you dazzle them weapons at will will still put out 10+ damage making dazzle useless against it since weapons at will does so much damage). and like I said above, it is easy to counter obesity.
in the name of the dragon: same mechanics as weapons at will, it activates last making any counter damage cards useless.
also most people know that top ELO players play beat down decks. the more damage output you can do the better chances of winning. this one sided strategy needs to change and as more people realize this the more I see this game taking a plunge.
I mean take a look.... over 2 million registered yet only 300 play in ELO? Take a hint feerik, try to balance (or even test your cards) before you release it. This money grab every week won't suffice. And I definitely have other games coming out soon that I'd rather spend my money on.
this is basically feerik trying to get people to spend money on energy for adventures. I've done several already and got nothing.
the card is pretty worthless anyway, no top ELO players use it.
Glad to see my initial reaction to the OP nature of tempus is being realized.
I honestly don't see how I can play this game much longer. It has turned into "who can do 20-30 damage" faster in the first 3 turns. There isn't much strategy involved, it's just a big beat down card game. That is not fun.
Personally I have always loved the nomads cause of the egyptian theme but they seem to be the cards that get nerfed the most, and have a ridiculous strategy that can't compete with beat down decks. And now everyone carries "sentenced" to easily counter any nomad/healing deck. Healing is worthless.
Feerik obviously do not test these cards, they are a small company and do not have the required staff to balance the game. Ultimately this will be their downfall. I have stated sometime in 2011 that this game won't last more than a year at their current strategy of new OP cards every week (in this case super super OP omfg nerf it already).
I do not find it fun anymore to come up with new strategies. I've spent over 200 bucks on this game in 2010 and now every single card I obtained is obsolete (and mind you I never got a single legendary out of the hundreds of boosters I opened).
There are awesome games I'm looking forward to this year coming out very soon. I can say I will never come back to Eredan again.
I will be one of the first to say I am stepping down. This game is not fun anymore.
temple guardians IMO aren't competitive. trust me I've been playing nomads since their release. they had their hayday the week they came out but never since then (over a year ago).
the only viable deck that I even came to 1800 ELO is with eclipse, and the only reason is they can do massive damage in a short period of time. but up against sap hearts/zil/nehantists (maurader) they mostly lose.
but 1800 ELO is nothing compared to the upper 1900s and 2000s people get every week.
nomads are the weakest guild in the game.
the new tempus is getting crazy,,,,they manipulated the turn into 12 in 2nd turn,,,,i don't know how to beat them
lol read a few posts up, you'd think someone who has been playing this game over a year would know a few things about unbalanced cards, but as you can see no one took notice to my post.
tempus are new top ELO. I mean 12-13 turns in one turn?
yup... amazing job feerik, amazing.
I'm not sure what the fuss about nehantists is when tempus are clearly unstoppable now.
I just fought a guy with every card update for the tempus.
He got to turn 13 after turn 1.
Then he dishes out 24-27 damage on the 2nd turn.
Needless to say I quit immediately after that.
Freakin unstoppable.
So it's wrong to play established, winning decks? Tell every card game that.
The problem with this is that everyone who sees the "winning" deck copies it. Which in turn means it's overpowered and not balanced.
Feerik needs to do its job and balance deck. They have balanced a few cards before, but ultimately need to do it more often.
A mod once said feerik keeps an eye on the top ELO decks. But why have none of these decks been balanced?
Increase the deck size to 30 cards. Problem solved.
Discard decks take skill to survive past turn 6...no skill whatsoever before then.
I have stated and started multiple threads about this many times. Feerik does not respond, instead we get people who play discards who say to shut up and grow up. The fact is discards do not belong in this game. I feel your pain and believe eredan would be 100x better without discards.
Of course that means "weapons at will" and "items have a soul" would have to be unique.
Then it gets interesting.
yea I have a big problem with discard's OP as well, the only deck that can beat them 9/10 is eclipse. I managed to get to 1800 elo this week (and for the first time ever, you get "rain of arrows" at 1800 for trophy, never knew that).
But beyond that eclipse can't compete with the 2 or 3 "flavor of the week" decks.
honestly it is just a gimmick card, she was free so obviously she won't be much use. by today's standards she is below average. not worthy in ANY competitive deck.
I find it awkward that your first word as the new english translator is "hy".
I don't know what "hy" is or what it even means, but if you are getting paid then who am I to judge.
I do not have any experience with witchblades but I play demon hunters regularly.
Basically is boils down to the hand you get on turn 1. I do not use integrity but instead I use evil eye and randori. Integrity is basically useless against humans and having a useless card is no good. evil eye and randori more then compensate for integrity.
I do decently against discards (cause we know EVERYONE loves to play discards). You pretty much have to beat them down as fast as possible and know when to not use cards vs using 1 or 2 chains.
DH murder witchblades.
Useless vs scargh (but so is everything else).
The weakness with DH is when someone can one shot Nashi. So it's important to keep some defense cards with him.
I'd say DH deck is 30% luck and 70% useful against anything else.
However vs the new sap heart top ELO deck that everyone copies, it's hard. Those sap hearts have the best defense, spirit, and attack vs anything else. Again you have to rely on that 30% luck of one shotting 1 or 2 characters before turn 3.
It's all basically luck.
I was just drunk and on a rant rampage, I dunno, just don't have legendary cards after spending $200+ dollars on this game.
Wow I did not expect this thread to get so many replies. I am very curious about the staff member who says only about 2 discards decks get into the top 10 ELO.
I just faced a person who was obviously discard. But he uses manipulation, ice barrier (ish), ball, and clone to heal and defense and negative attack any deck I have.
Well of course pirates, saps, and mercs only get -1 damage. But with the Ish +2 defense +ball/clone it is still nearly impossibly to defeat this deck.
And with manipulation on top of an undefeatable Marlok, it is very hard to beat this deck.
This has been going on for a year+ now and I am very surprised Feerik has yet to balance these decks. When I first started this game over a year ago it was great, attack vs defense vs spirit. Discards were always top ranked no matter what which is why I get frustrated with this game. It is just no matter what deck you make the deck I described above can defeat most decks.
The only thing I can assume that counters that deck is another discard deck. Personally I hate discard decks (as does the staff member that already posted here). Discard decks have no say in this game, it is unbalanced IMO. I would just like to revert back to the days of rock paper scissors but I fear this will never come...
Ugh I'm sorry for this post. I was just frustrated after finally getting 10 wins in a row only to go back under 1700 ELO by defeat of discard decks. I'm not here to cause trouble or to troll. I hope no one sees it that way. Just get frustrated that discard decks can win so much without much thought.
In fact to expand this topic, I'd like to take a poll. If you hate discard decks let your voice be heard! Even if you play discard decks, wouldn't you think this game would be better solely on attack/defense/spirit aspects? Discard decks just have such an easy way out it's ridiculous.
So everyone just express your opinion on discard decks and how they should be abolished, it is absolutely unnecessary. There is only one card that can counter discards, besides the fact that it is a legendary card that goes for 600k crystals, it can easily be denied by a crappy common card, anathemize.
Let your voices be heard, we need to change this system of overpowered discards.
Ok so ice barrier and manipulation still own every deck out there, why hasn't feerik addressed this problem or fixed these cards? Any attack deck, and I mean ANY attack deck, let me empahsize that ANY AND EVERY attack deck stands no chance against this kind of deck.
I personally REFUSE to make a discard deck as it is so stupidly overpowered. ANS you say? Oh wait a common card can neutralize that in an instant, anathemize.
I finally created a unique deck of my own making and got to 1700-1800 ELO but wait every person I face now is a discard deck! wow! It is so utterly impossible to counter these decks, and even after spending 200+ USD dollars on this game I have never ever gotten a single legendary card.
This is why I think I should just quit this game, there is just no balance and feerik never listens to the consumer's demands anyway. How many posts have I seen saying how new weekly releases are stupid and just a money grab? Hundreds!
Anyway this is my rant, I'm sure some will agree and disagree. Take out discards and this game will be so awesome you wouldn't even know. But alas after over a year of playing this game I am becoming very impatient and will spend my money elsewhere, I am only one person after all right?
I am glad to see all these ideas and insights coming from everyone! I must apologize if I seemed rather blunt and forceful in my opinions but there comes a point where you can only take so much that it boils over. Sorry if I seemed rude in my points but I am sure everyone has faced these frustrations.
You know I thought the new ELO restrictions for no act I cards would keep people from using discards... but I guess I was wrong. 50% of the time I still face a discard deck and they can still win regardless of my strategy.
If I change my strategy to dominate discards I still get owned by sap hearts that go all out magic/attack (brother in arms...? laugh... living nature 20+ damage? laugh...).
I just don't know how much longer I can support this game. Sometimes I do not even see the point of playing and just take a few days off, but then I get an idea and test it out only to see it fail over and over again.
Bottom line is discards must be replaced. I can see no other way. It's so frustrating to deal with them when they know they don't have to rely on attack/defense/spirit to win.
Of course if I had ANS I would probably think differently, but after the hundreds of dollars I spent and the tens of thousands of feez I went through on decks I've never ever ever EVER found a legendary card. It frustrates me when people post pics of a 4 pack they got with an Ish or ANS.
Anyway I know what I do does not really matter or have an impact I just wanted to speak out. I really cannot see this game lasting another year like so many other facebook/browser games out there.
As some already said, to just raise the cards' limit is something that could lead to new problems. And we wouldnt be that sure it would solve any issue.
Devs are monitoring ELO results for months now, checking decks, checking metagame, etc. Believe me : they know what are the true problems, and they are working very hard to solve them.
Wow thank you for some insight, it's rare to get staff members posting on the english forums.
But still any discard deck is hard to deal with unless you have a deck primarily based on maximum attack, but that means you have to do away with defense. Believe me I've been playing this game for so long and discard decks can win against ANY type of deck. These caste cards you guys deal out every week or so have no defense against discards. Discards are just the best deck out there to deal with any situation.
I even chatted with one of the top ELO guys for a while when witchblades were overpowered and he said he plays nothing but WB or discards cause they could beat anything. Now that WBs have been balanced it still leaves discards open to win against any deck.
Hell I've been playing Demon Hunters since the cards came out and have yet to come up with an effective strategy. Since discards are my biggest concern I go all out on attack but any deck that isn't discard pretty much wins cause they have defense cards and counters. Even against discards it's 50/50 so as you can imagine I stay between 1500-1600 ELO with this caste (and I've logged about 10,000 games so it's not like I'm a newb). It pisses me off to no end and I don't even know why I play this game other than the fact that I somehow believe it will go back to the good old days.
Anyway just do away with discards and then there will be some good competition.
Glasher a écrit :Adapt and overcome!
In Eredan there is one FACT that no player can ignore but the majority do. If you want to play competitively, AND EXCEL, you have to invest time and money. You also are limited to a handful of decks that incidentally enough cost a lot of money. While you can get a good distance into ELO with half priced decks you more than likely will not make top 10. Why complain, its a simple truth in Eredan, in Yugioh, hell even in FPS, Fighting games, learning piano, playing chess, I can go on n on. You don't get good being lazy, or having things handed to you!
I'm still a scrub in Eredan, not because I am poor or rich but because I still have a lot to learn especially in the technical department. Eredan is not as cut and dry a game as you would like to believe, and its rather sad to few bother with technical strategies that demolish trashy expensive decks. There are things you can do to improve your odds though:
-Break the mold of your deck so that it provides a couple of extra strategies needed to defeat certain decks. Running trackers then complaining your opponents def is to high isn't going to get you anywhere. FIX IT! Go into your decklist and look at what you can slim down from 3 to 2, or get rid of entirely and start using cards that make up for your decks weaknesses while still providing boosts to its strengths.
-STOP NETDECKING!!! This isn't pointed to any1 directly. However, if you simply copy a deck you saw on the forums, or a deck that demolished you, or a deck sum1 made for you, you are not likely to have as much success. WHY? Because, YOU DIDN'T TAKE THE TIME TO TEST, TO TWEAK, and to UNDERSTAND what your deck can do in general, when you should do certain plays, combos, etc.
The more you play the more you learn about your deck, your opponents, yourself, and your weaknesses. As you progress you change your deck, or to an entirely new deck and continue to grow. If 1 card is beating you so badly you should look into alternative strategies.
I know this is not pointed at me, but just I want to give my opinion.
Besides the fact that you are right in almost everything you just said, it's a bit relative.
For example, I invested a LOT of money, and I got billions of crappy cards. My only legends in, lets say, 100 boosters, was ANS (which is REALLY sad)
Lots of players bought their legends when they were really cheap, and of course it's unfair to all new players, getting 2m crystals to buy all legends is nearly impossible unless you get really lucky on boosters.
I make it to the top 30 in Amnezy every week, and in permanent ELO I stayed in the 7th place a lot of time.
Of course I don't have the time nor the deck to make it top the top. But I think it's a little unfair that rich people gets all the credit.
Like I said, a deck with prestige, void, 1/2 ans (watcher?), void has already a huge advantage over every deck, and if you adjust your deck to beat those kind of decks, you are likely to lose against every deck that is not a recycle deck.I'm not whining about "hey I want a deck to beat everything". I think my decks are fairly balanced, otherwise I wouldn't reach the points I'm reaching. I'm always switching between decks/guilds/chars/strategies to check what deck does better in ELO every week, but the result is always the same, when I reach 1800+ I always end giving up because I start to see decks that are unbeatable unless you have the same legendaries to counter them, which is REALLY boring.
All of this, plus the fact that with every release, the game gets more unbalanced (example; circus + panic + prestige release screwed up the metagame), plus the billion of bugs that have over a month old... bah, maybe it's just me?
You used "whining" 4 times in your little rant. Congrats. Who's whining now...?
