#1 Re : Deck and Strategy » Demon armor reduction deck » 12-09-2011 15:21:31

Hey,

Ardrakar works better than Anagram.

If you plan to use reduce I strongly suggest [card]Black Chimera[/card] x3. They are pretty expensive, but very useful (especialy with your setup).

Sadly I did not try the demon cloud setup yet so I have no feedback on that one

(I run http://forum.eredan.com/viewtopic.php?id=27637 atm, search for the bottom post for the latest version)

I hope I could help a little. smile

What I mostly meant is that these things can be looked up from external sites like the wiki or the forum FAQ (after some intense searching), but It would be really good if new players could reach these kind of infos through an ingame channel or a link. For example adding some sort of help panel that includes the detailed rules and definitions.

I personally learned these tings by experience, but it can be frustrating sometimes.

Hi,

As a relatively new player I encountered some stuff that I figured out only a lot later and by experience. It would be good if they could be explained a bit more carefully for starters. As an example creating a rulebook would be wonderful! Though I guess a small guide or FAQ could do as well.

What I mean:
1. It was not clear to me in the first weeks what the term "order bonus "actually means. Maybe you should add the word turn before it (turn order bonus), this way I think it is more clearer. Regardless even in its old form it would be cool if we could look up  at least the definition somewhere. What I mean here is that I did use the cards order bonus I just did not know it is called order bonus. smile

2. It was absolutely not clear to me why can I chain up cards when it is not marked as a chain in the description. Later I figured out that pure mages can chain spells (then I realized they cant chain aoe). I know these are simple things for veteran players and you can figure them out, but it would be good again if new players could be informed.

3. Sometimes races can use cards that are not in their classes. Example: cutting all ties can be used by a nehantic guamelite that has no mage class, even that the card gives absolutely no clue about it, on the contrary it has a mage class icon on it. Figuring these out by myself was a great challange, because nothing even mentions it.

4. If mages cast a damaging spell and do not have any other class they will not attack. Now this is a VERY common mistake in lower lvl rooms, because you cannot look it up. Just go there and watch them play lightning bolt and then a than the sword for example. I know they do and I had to do the same a few times as well until I figured out why is he attacking or why not at all.

Thats all I came up with so far (as I remember). Hope it will be useful feedback.

*EDIT:
5. I still have no clue what "initative" is I saw +1 and +2 on the cards but I noticed no difference. It should affect who hits first i na fight or something?

#5 Re : Deck and Strategy » Nehant hand deny marauder deck » 08-09-2011 17:21:35

I'm running this currently based on our conversation:

[card]Hate[/card]
[card]Ardrakar[/card]
[card]The Shadow, Lady of the Nehant[/card]

- 3x [card]It's all fun and games...[/card]
- 3x [card]Cutting All Ties[/card]
- 3x [card]...until someone gets hurt![/card]

- 3x [card]Dark fury[/card]
- 3x [card]Perversion[/card]
- 2x [card]Nehant's Seal[/card]
- 3x [card]Black Chimera[/card]

I tried to include [card]Hand of Death[/card] instead of Dark fury, but the first felt too situational. DF with the +2(sometimes 5) and guaranteed chain, just worked better than a situational card that only 2 char can use. I think HoD has more use in a full demon deck with eye and other reduce stuffs.

My Ardrakar is only lvl 3, the 4th needs one more chimera, so maybe next month. It only gives +1 spirit and +1 def though so I feel okay about it.

Thanks for the help. If you or anyone have further oppinion or advice I'm listening.

I totally agree with you. I do not know who does the pricing, but he certainly do not know if they lower the prices they can ultimately earn more (marshallian cross is a pretty easy concept to digest, some might wonder). Not to mention the market price for some serious cards are at the momet kind of unavailable for most of us. I mean okay legendary cards should cost a LOT, but when a basic card that is needed for a concept costs like 40k and you need 3? I'm talking about rare or sometimes even uncommon cards.

When I started playing I realized I have to spend money here. I liked the game I did so, even that the pricing is unusually high for most of us. I have no problem with that. The amount I spent for this game (in the last 3 months) equals with buying a brand new internet game with monthly subscribtion and playing it for half a year.

The funny thing is that even with spending this money I have hard times to get some cards that is like a must, to be competent with those who can afford it. I learned about sales a lot later and I'm not the most patient kind (when I want something I must buy it or I feel bad). I totally understand why most of the new people just give it up.

What I do not understand how people here see this as a discount:

This is a periodic event type of sale, that is limited to one/player, yet:
As far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong) we usually can buy a 12 cards booster (with 1 rare) in the sale period for 200 feez. If I decide to spend 10.000 feez (oh god thats a lot, I can buy like a brand new huuuge monitor for that price, not some virtual cards) I can buy 50 boosters. That is 600 cards with 50 guaranteed rare and hellofa good chance to draw some better stuff as well. I do not think simply some fancy xp cards a foilmaker worth it... Some legendaries are not even expensive. (compared to some sick priced rare)

So yeah well it is tempting, but you relese new cards almost every week. It is not something that you buy and then do not buy any more boosters, because of that. It is not even a real discount. sad I wonder how many ppl will buy it.

Thanks for the feedback I would love to use Ardarakar. I think yours is a bit different concept(not much of a beatdown, but a bit more defensive) and I'm not sure it would work better in practice. I will try it out regardless, because I have the cards for it (mostly).

The problem with cutting all the ties is that Hate is a demon so she cannot use it (neither can she use perversion). This means I cannot keep it up all the time. I used recycle magic in the past, but since my fights did not last long I pretty much didn't need it. Regardless her -1 handsize is very good boon to give up... It will be hard to decide who to replace. sad

I don't think I will remove Dark Fury, they work very nicely.
I already use 2 it is time instead of skyward. :-)

So I think I will try to squeeze in some perversion and chimera in an other way. I can give up on some seal for example and assassination since ardrakar cannot use it.

I will let you know how it went. smile I dont give too much chance to it, because for the complete lockdown I need a lucky draw as well, otherwise I can only partially deny the enemy's hand (but it worked well with beatdown smile ).

Hi,

This is a very good and tempting package!
Also nice bugfixes, I welcome that the daily reward is increased.

The critic part:
I always found the Eredan shop a bit overpriced, regardless I buy 1-2 boosters every month since I started (like 3 months ago). Honestly 10.000 Feez? I mean really? This is ridiculously expensive even for a grand pack like this...

I did not really count how much does it means in real currency but my guess is around 100 EUR... I do not know how much people earn in some countries, but it is... whoa. Too expensive.

I hope you guys won't remove my post this is just my honest oppinion. Thanks for the work you put into the game regardless.

I did several plays with the deck. It beats discard decks efforlessly. Those seems to be very popular at this time. I encountered them 5 times and 5 times beat them, by the end I had 0 deck and on one occasion 0 hand, but it beats it down regardless (even with a bad draw or not starting).

I found skyward boots a bit slow so I replaced them with it is on time cards. They seem to work better due to being chain. the fight usually don't last long enough for skyward.

Hi,

I would like to share with you my current deck, I find it very effective, but suggestions are welcome:

[card]The Shadow, Lady of the Nehant[/card]
[card]Anagram[/card] (guamelite version)
[card]Hate[/card]

[card]Dark fury[/card] x3
[card]It's all fun and games...[/card] x3
[card]...until someone gets hurt[/card] x3
[card]Cutting all ties[/card] x3
[card]Extinction[/card] x1
[card]Anathematize [/card] x1
[card]Assassination[/card] x1
[card]Nehant's Seal[/card] x3
[card]Skyward boots[/card] x2

The idea and way:

Hate limits the handsize of you and the enemy to 4 (all the times 'till she dies).
When The Shadow's ability kicks in it removes 2 more cards from the enemy's hand so I found skyward very useful on her (I added 2 for the better chances to show up, I tend to discard if 2 of them comes into my hand).
With the previously mentioned abilites, all fun and games, someone gets hurt and cutting ties I can give the opponent a very hard time to land his combo (sometimes even completely shutting him down) while causing direct damage.

The characters in this deck has insanely high damage potential on their own even if I cannot boost their attack (because I focus on shutdown). In the last moment a well placed dark fury combo can kill off almost anyone, even if things go badly, though I sometimes use them up early if I need a chain and have no other options.

Because Hate limits me as well and I do not use a pure mage I included a lot of chain abilites that makes the deckflow faster. Regardless I tend to discard if I happen to get a bad draw.

I added Anathematize and Extintion, because with 1-1 of these cards I can seriously mess up some combos (that otherwise quite deadly if not countered).

Oppinions?
