#1 Re : Deck and Strategy » Demon May Rise - Demonic Portal » 16-06-2011 10:09:24

I am playing it.. In mirrors, just try to understand if the opponent will play the portal.. If so, don't buff your character...

However, it can still copy Inferno or Ardrakar, generally..

Clumsiness works well however..

#2 Re : Deck and Strategy » Stone Heart May Rise » 15-06-2011 14:30:05

Witchblades are not an impossible matchup, if your characters manage to survive a bit... 40%

Vs. Trackers you have an 80% win.
Vs. IHAS, you just have to play a bit well and it's done!
Vs. Armada.. match won.
Vs. The Pack 75% win.

Vs. Eclipse, it's hard. Would say 30%.
Vs. Circus, almost impossible: 20%
Vs. Sap Heart, depends on the draw, I'd say..

Not a top tier deck, but fun to play! Dimizar turning from a 3/5 to a big monster is always fun! He one-shots quite often in the first rounds!

Looking at the Nehants, I came out with a strange idea!

Base:
[card]The Shadow, Lady of the Nehants[/card]
[card]Ardrakar[/card]
[card]Dimizar[/card]

Core cards (8):
[card]The Forbidden Book[/card] 1x
[card]Demonic Portal[/card] 3x
[card]Stone Heart[/card] 1x
[card]Demon May Rise[/card] 3x

Other cards (12)
[card]Life Devourer[/card] 1x
[card]Black Chimera[/card] 2x
[card]Dark Fury[/card] 3x
[card]Nehant's Seal[/card] 3x
[card]Capturing the Enemy[/card] 1x
[card]Clumsiness[/card] 1x
a nehantic spell of your choice 1x

Strategy:
Hit decently with Ardrakar and The Shadow.
Against hard hitters, use Demon May Rise and Demonic Portal on all your characters. On mages or other, create your Demon (15/15 or 16/16) and copy it.
Stone Heart replenishes your life once the Demon is created.
Other cards help in general or are a decent chain.

Reached 1700 elo last week, but has a lot of things to improve!

#4 Re : Deck and Strategy » No-Ishaia-Courtesans: Build, Match ups and Solutions » 07-01-2011 02:20:36

I inserted 2x Versatility and 2x Potion of Seduction. They both are great for Kimiko and help with [card]The best defense...[/card]. [card]Fall Back[/card] is amazing, probably will play a second one instead of Sunburn.

Vs mages (Noz) I am dead, but I cannot do anything about it...
Have some trouble also against tempus decks, but here the Treacherous usually comes in handy... Amazing card, makes the difference a lot of times, like Anathematize!

With this deck, I just won against Stoon, the current ELO leader with +/- 2000 points, by [card]Treacherous[/card]-ing him a first [card]A new Start[/card] and Anathematizing his graveyard the turn he played the second one.

How do you unlock the last upgrade? I'd like to level up my 3 OV, i like the second illustration a lot more...

#6 Re : Deck and Strategy » No-Ishaia-Courtesans: Build, Match ups and Solutions » 23-12-2010 16:28:45

Against that, you still have some solutions:
2x [card]The Council's Decision [/card]- counters Items Have a Soul if played by the [card]Ooge Kage[/card] or [card]Lord Galmara[/card]
1x [card]Anathematize[/card] - the best solution to that deck! Kills his discard pile, meaning that Items Have a Soul will

1x Tsume helps especially the Kage to do some decent damage vs Hom'Chai.

Be aggressive in looking through your deck for the Anathematize and the job is done... smile

yow, i will try your build (it looks great lol)

i've planned to get my 3rd overwhelming card, and 2-3 versatility, and then add kimiko and tea ceremony.
but unluckily, kimiko price has just raised up (damn!, do market read this thread? lol)
btw, isn't kimiko effect is underpowered without tea ceremony combo?

ah, and why play defensive?
isn't the reason to add kimiko is to finish up the remaining hp at the begininning of 2nd turn (2times show up, +1ceremony, 6dmg/enemy)?

Well, most decks are vunarable once you survive the first blast. I just faced Kimiko and is almost unkillable with Manipulation + Overwhelming Victory. Think of her acting as a shield while your other character do the real dmg....

Exactly! On the first round, pair Kimiko with the opponent with the highest defense from the opponent. Usually it has low damage and with a Potion of Seduction or any other buff, will do almost no damage. If possible, play her on the first round. If she loses some HP, they will be recovered with OV cast with the other 2 characters (+2 HP on her!). It is not unusual to end up with a kimiko at 13 HP after the first 3 characters have been played! A lot of times, Kimiko is THE card that survives, while your 2 warriors die and kill the opposing 3 characters!
When I say Play defensively, I was thinking about this...
If you are in doubt between casting an [card]Overwhelming Victory[/card] or a +3 [card]Three Cheers to our Champ![/card], go for the OV. If you want to chain on first round and you have [card]Potion of Seduction[/card] and [card]Versatility[/card], go for the potion. Play your short sword on the first turn, no damage now, but more damage later...

I made some minor modifications to my deck.
I play now a Sunburn, Anathematize, Steal, Treacherous, Tsume. I have now one or two dead cards per game and chain a bit less than before, but I have much better answers to a lot of decks. Up to now, 82 Victories and 20 defeats, around 1700 ELO (can't find opponents now, boring!) and 1850/1900 permanent ELO.
The deck became full of 1x or 2x cards, which are situational in fact...
I noticed that everything I need, damage and defense, can be obtained with 3 weapons, 3 OV and 3 Manipulations. Everything else for me became: find the best answers to your opponent!

Hi all!
I am playing a Courtesan deck, without [card]Concilor Ishaia[/card].
My current build is:

[card]Lord Galmara[/card] - Zil route
[card]Ooge Kage[/card] - Zil route
[card]Kimiko[/card]

Core spells: 5 (6) cards:
2 [card]Manipulation[/card] - third one to be added, first card in!
3 [card]Overwhelming Victory[/card]

No discussions about this...

Weapons: 3 cards
1 [card]Simple Dagger[/card]
1 [card]Tsume[/card]

Sword and Dagger will be upgraded ASAP...

General spells: 6 (5) cards
2 [card]Versatility[/card] - kimiko health recovery or +1/+1 chain. not bad.
2 [card]Potion of Seduction[/card] - general chain, Kimiko help.

Tricks: 6 cards:
1 [card]Anathematize[/card] - Items have a Soul, A new Start etc etc
2 [card]The Council's Decision[/card] - Useful against many things
2 [card]Treacherous[/card] - Noz or for when game gets locked in late turns
1 [card]Steal[/card] - Kotoba killer, Craftsman, Tracker.
1 [card]Sunburn[/card] - don't use it a lot, but makes the difference in mirrors..
1 [card]The best defense...[/card] - usually a +6 or something close for Lord Galmara. Much more stable than Three Cheers to our Champ!
1 [card]Fall Back[/card]

Now, there is space for improvement!
I do not have big problems against Kotoba and Zil, but I terribly suffer Noz! I play my chances against Sap and Nomads.
Win ratios:
Kotoba - Very High
Zil - High
Noz - Low, actually the only impossible match-up
Witchblades - Medium
Melissandra Sap - Medium, depends on the draws
The Pack - High
Hom'Chai Sap - Medium

#9 Re : Deck and Strategy » newbie: need suggestion for courtesan deck » 20-12-2010 23:12:09

Manipulation is expensive, I agree. But it makes quite a difference, if you run [card]Manipulation[/card] and [card]Three Cheers to our Champ![/card], you have a big edge against Zil and Kotoba, but I would limit the cheers to two.
Overwhelming Victory works well with Kimiko, the +2 health is quite good and usually makes her survive to 3 attacks.
If you play Kimiko, try to play more defensively... The council's decision can be played for free on Kimiko in the first 3 rounds if you play a Overwhelming Victory afterwards, so making a small bet on an opponent who might play an item might be a nice move.

Let me know if you try anything similar/different!
I have big problems only against Noz now, but I am trying to find a solution. [card]Treacherous[/card]?

#10 Re : Deck and Strategy » newbie: need suggestion for courtesan deck » 20-12-2010 13:18:12

I am running a courtesan deck right now too..

I play [card]Kimiko[/card] with the kage and galmara.
1 [card]Tea ceremony[/card]
2 manipulation (looking to buy the third, it is an enormous card! And after all, a good call with kimiko!)

[card]The council's decision[/card] is a must in the deck, IMHO. Can really make some nice tricks and avoid some nasty cards!

[card]Overwhelming victory[/card] must be played 3x, it is a card that you always want in your hand.
I do not play the Voodoo, because it becomes useless with kimiko..

I would consider [card]Versatility[/card].. It makes +1 atk/+1 def for the kage and galmara, and a +2 health and +1 def with kimiko. And it does chain. Not too bad.

The first cards I want to add are:
[card]Tadaa! you're a bunny![/card] - for kimiko
Upgrading the weapons seems costly for me, right now..
3rd [card]Manipulation[/card]
Councilor Ishaia - will have to wait quite a bit for that... smile
[card]The Best Defense...[/card]

#11 Re : Deck and Strategy » Building on a Budget! » 02-12-2010 16:15:18

What levels are you guys? and what levels can you win against?

What is the total amount of matches played, wins/losses? I am really considering to give it a try...

A courtesan deck is out of budget for me (manipulation, tea ceremony..), same as the melissandre-quick draw build..  Tempus is waaay to expensive too..

Need to find a decent solution for around 50-60k...

#12 Re : Deck and Strategy » Building on a Budget! » 01-12-2010 18:43:17

Yeah, the tracker deck is pretty solid for the value...
What results did you get from it?

Hi all! I am new, started not long ago, currently level 11.

I wanted to create a topic where good builds are sorted by the budget.
I mean, what's the best thing you can build with 30.000 crystals? And with 50.000? 200.000?

Currently my deck is a Noz:
[card]Pilkim[/card] lvl 3
[card]Eglantyne the Witchblade [/card] lvl 2
[card]Moira the Witchblade[/card] lvl 2

Cost of characters: 100+2000+100 @ lvl1; 2200

Spells:
3x [card]The Pen is Mightier[/card] 3x500=1500
3x [card]Than the Sword[/card] 3x800=2400
1x [card]Assassination[/card] starter deck
1x [card]Fireball[/card] starter deck
2x [card]Guardian's Benediction[/card] 2x400=800
2x [card]Ice Barrier[/card] 2x3000=6000
3x [card] Magic Attack[/card] 3x1000=3000
1x [card]Lightning Bolts[/card] starter deck
1x [card]Static Charge [/card] starter deck
3x [card]Unleash Hell[/card] 3x2500=7500

Total cost of spells: 21.200
Total cost of deck: 23.400
Results: around 1650 permanent ELO, but haven't played much. Works decently in Level rooms.

What are other decks that are build on a similar budget, let's say 40.000<?
