Armor of the Thunder King

I've been noticing that the second part of the effect is not activating. I've put the armor on the Thunder King as well as two other humans, waited a turn and gotten hit by a magic attack/spell but no reflection damage has occurred. Not sure but does it work for other people?

It used to, but I haven't used it of late since it's set bonus is somewhat broken.  What specific spells were used against you?
