It has always worked this way, even with dark heart stone or the nehantic stone.. Eredan game mechanics has a lot of faults..

I think with those 2 items it DOES the damage and then prevent it, so it should heal, with vanish it doesn't do any, so it shouldn't..

Waiting for a dev answer

Watch what happens when you use dark stone or vanish

The damage is counted, but negated. Vital siphon still counts the damage done to you, even if it doesn't occur. Hence the healing.

So.. should it work this way? Kinda too much for syphon IMO :S
[card]Vanish[/card] says you don't SUFFER damage

I think the devs should rework the game mechanics. If what Rathedan says is correct, then then damage being counted first then negated is that more like being healed for the damage done rather than not suffering any damage in the first place.

Thats the problem, the card discripton say imunnity, not that the damage is negated. So or even the discripton is wrong or the game mechanics. And since spells like, The demon may rise, not only reduces the armor but also does one damage on a character with one of the stones we can say that the mechanics are wrong..

To be fair it's simply poor design.
Vital Syphon = stealing health from the enemy.

Obviously the health is gained from the damage you do.
If you don't do damage, there is no health to be gained.

Either:
a) Immunity mechanics need to be fixed.
b) Immunity mechanics are fine and the card isn't working properly. Healing should only happen if damage is done.
c) Immunity mechanics are fine and the card is working properly, but is -not- worded properly, meaning that healing is meant to happen even if damage is negated (wich has nothing to do with the concept of the card and is quite stupid, imo).

I agree 100% with Nurvus. If it was supposed to work as it is working all those cards (Vanish, the stones and similars) should say it ignore the spells damage instead of immunity or prevent.

And if thats the case the concept of those cards is totally wrong.
