I bought the Apostle of Destiny from the marketplace and leveled her in the hopes of making the Shadow.. I abandoned that thought and attempted to put her back on the marketplace but it now says the card is nonexchangeable.

Why would this happen?

Apostle and Watchmaker of Destiny cannot be sold if at max level. They are exceptions, I dunno if there are more.

But you need them to enable the evolution of some cards, for example, Zahal needs you to have Watchmaker of Destiny in your inventory to level from lv3 to lv4.

I am aware that the two are needed for leveling some cards, that's why I bought Apostle, but this limit to their saleability is not ever stated or warned about. So I'm out 5000ish crystals now... fantastic. As I'm not one of the select with wads of waste cash, that loss actually means something to me.
I am growing less and less pleased with this game.

Thank you sir, for you response, it would be nice if those restrictions were warned about.

They are if you take the time to look around. Not everything can be shone in big bright letters.

If you have time to read the forum or at least ask older player about it, this thing sure won't happen

Besides your loss was minimal, so it wasn't such a big deal

They are if I take the time to look around... that's really unreasonable to say, Mr.Lordi. No other card I have ever dealt with from the marketplace has worked like that, there was no logical reason for the question to even enter my head as to not being able to resell it.
It was reasonable that no level 3's were on the marketplace as those are the ones people would want to buy up. At least, so I thought.

And like I said, I'm not one of the few that can throw gobs of money around, so it is a loss.

Apostle and Watchmaker, being such unique exceptions to the operation of the marketplace are EXACTLY what warrant a warning.

Sigh. Whatever. I can't do anything about it and they won't do anything about it.

Just look on the bright side, someday you'll need apostle to upgrade a lot of characters and sell them for profit, I managed to level up shadow twice and sold them for huge amounts of profit.. believe me, it wasn't a loss but an investment

Apostle and Watchmaker are both worth having. What sucks is I have 3 maxed Watchmakers...wanted to complete the Mercenary Trophy....and then wanted a foil watchmaker so my tempus deck could be foil
