a new card release.. and we see no pirate flagship... so i assume that avatar of sol'ra will be one of kind among all guilds
as to makin the avatar... most ppl who like nomads more then other guilds (like i m one of them) already have most of the chars that were required for the trophy... i had 11/12 of the chars when the trophy came into existence... so for the other cards... either many feez or many crystals... over all not too difficult to obtain if u invest money
anyways... i dont like the avatar cause he ruins 5 out of 8 decks i play making me leave more games then i used to...
maybe Feerik didnt really think about what they did and i think they should change the card... several ways would exist
-less health
-less damage
-cant chain cards
-limit the passive to his own group
-more damage to own troops
Wash the spears... while the sun climbs high.
Wash the spears... while the sun climbs low.
Wash the spears... who fears to die?
Wash the spears... no one I know!

Just low his HP 3 points, low his damage another 2, his spirit by one, and limit his hability to any heal of his group and half or the oponent.

+1 a thousand times over.
The seriously need to nerf the ever-loving hell out of this guy. I especially like the two suggestions I bolded. He does have too high of an attack, but I don't feel it's as broken as having 22 HP.
I vote he gets hit by his own ability, too.
Either that or he dies on a certain turn. Perhaps he dies the first turn he's played, effectively turning him into suicide bomber, starting the game off with each player only having two characters, effectively.

I agree with his ability hurting himself also...

Problem is, that the game is almost always going to end on turn 3/4 with or against a Avatar deck. They require no skill or thought what-so-ever, and he can instantly get as powerful as Weapons at Will, IHAS, or a beefed up Golem with little to no effort what-so-ever, on the first friggen turn, WITHOUT being vulnerable to Anathemize, Prestige, etc.
It's all the power of the decks that had that turn 2/3 killing power, faster and easier.
The strongest card I can think of against avatar decks is Demons gate. Dazzle is a close second.
Right now the only decks that beat Avatar are big damage decks. Avatar's Odd turn damage is not counted at the end of the game, so you will win on points always with IHAS, or Weapons at will, maybe even Flawseekers.
Hors ligne
To make it fair:
Heal limitation only for your own characters.
Ban Harshness and solar armor.
This way he doesn't auto-beat any deck and his team damage balances his high damage/health
Hors ligne
Like I said a few posts back, he should be the Nomad's version of Telendar, glass cannon, suicide bomber
.....not the Nomad Superman

you are awesome... its quite obvious that sap heart has quite a good edge against any nomads due to their lack of natural defence...

Amazing, there is one deck that can beat him, clearly he is balanced then.

Seriously I am tired of this movement of theirs to faster gameplay. I like having fun and complex setups, if I wanted "bubba clubba, you die now" I'd go log on to a FPS game not a strategy card game. I actually don't mind his health, I do mind his attack ramping. He should either be a health tank OR an assassin, not both.

Who'd have thunk a deck that does multiple attacks could kill something with 0 natural defense? Why didn't we all think of that? You're some kind of wizard.

I think they should just drop the permanent SPECIFICALLY for him.
But...here is the thing...It's Sol'Ra, so...will they Make an OP version of salem and call him "Artezil", or have something like "The Dragon Noz Dingard"...From the looks of the story, Void is going to beat everything to a pulp before -sigh- the good guys win... We've already seen the undead emperor for the Kotoba...what in the bloody hell is going on...

Mercenaries and trophies are underrated.
PS: I'm insane

I wish I could follow the story. Is it in English at all? The wiki is only up to the Death of Ish.

woow 0 natural defense...so what? There are enough def-cards for Avatar. He doesn't need dmg boost in the first place.
I personally saw exactly 1 HaP Deck in the higher ranks for the last two days. That should give you an edge about the real effectiveness vs. Sol'Ra.
The problem of him is having exactly 0 weaknesses and overall stats and furthermore effects which are just broken as long as he doesn't hurt himself or gives his anti-heal only on odd/even Turns for opp. or whatsoever.
Either he needs a weakness or just slam the banhammer on incanation or the mighty one himself. (even though i prefer banning the incanation, that should work as well and won't destroy the theme of anti-heal as a whole)

The anti heal is too powerfull and can't be countered. not even by killing the avatar

I think that strong offense attack decks (like warriors that chain weapons) should do well against him. They tend to have higher health anyway and chaining weapons and anything else with +attack usually knocks him out before he can do much damage. Also, he ends up killing his own teammates anyway if you have strong rounds to begin with against them.

So that will just dilute the meta to decks that play Avatar and decks that kill Avatar decks.
This is almost identical to Magic's problem when Jace was in standard. There were decks that played him and decks that tried to kill him quickly.

I used an Immortals deck and beat him...

Even if some decks can beat him (even as sap hearth warrior I need luck, can't even imagine other decks.) It is way OP. It's what? the third week since he has been released? If there was a way to overcome him people would have figured it out by now, but there's even more Avatars in the top ELO than last week.
They need to ban the card itself or change it. The only way they can make this worse (IMO) is by releasing cards as OP for other guilds.

How? I'm not calling you a liar, I'm just saying beating him with a deck that falls back on healing.... That thing Avatar stops..... Seems unlikely.

I am just getting sick of the power creep. With the nomad release I start wondering what idiot is in charge of balancing these cards.
Dragon Knights ftw

Please with dignity, they are not an idiot rather than just HUGE fans of nomads, and they think "heck it's not gonna hurt anybody if I add a couple of extra stats on the card"

I think he/she/they thought.
"Hey a little extra stats will make him good. Now lets add no one can heal so he can't heal and at the same time kill a whole class. Now let's give it something for mages and make sure they don't see light of day ever again. Finishing touch lets make it so he hits his comrades to balance. Wait that's mean lets give them armor that prevents it."

And to make it worse, the other dude made a card so it can copy his friend's broken card attack power, physically weak mages (not going to bother mentioning priest here, no heal ) like ishaia and doyen can be a real she-hulk and hulk..
