Re : The Great Noz release!

You really think mages were competitive before this update? I mean, you didn't run anything against magic and won most of the time, that's not competitive hmm

Re : The Great Noz release!

I play this almost since the beggining, won many tourneys using mages when they were good, It's seems its you who missed the changes in this game that made mages suck. Let me point them to you.

1) New competition format, before you only needed to get the most wins in 1 hour, so a fast deck like mages was awesome because even if it didn't have the most win %, you could afford a couple loses as long as you played fast.

2) Circus and discard in general

3) Mage decks were using the same cards for over a year, and there has been an amazing amount of powerfull cards for other guilds like: Living Nature, Band of Brothers, Saphyra, Weapons at will, etc.

Maybe you don't play ELO? that might explain how can someone think mages were still competitive before this update :S

elo is a joke imo mages lose competitiveness cause of those freaking discards if those arent allowed in elo youll be seeing alot of mage decks in there so dont tell me they arent competitive before this update.

Ish Pilk Prophet= 18-1900 elo when built properly.
Competitive= anything that can top 1800 elo.

The reason I haven't seen that many noz, is because I've seen loads of circus and Trackers, which were designed to counter mages. That, and all of the GOOD noz players retired...
I miss Parker =_=

Re : The Great Noz release!

Simple way to nullify this release, ELO wise, is Mage Discard. Run Either of 2 builds..

Ish
Abys
Psy

or...

Marlok
Abys
Eternal/Ish

Enough Spirit to survive early turn damage, chain Scheme and Ball for +5 HP and spam that Discard...night night Noz. Even with old Nozdecks a decent discard could have them beat by turn 4.

Oh, ELO will ban the Dragon's Breath within the next 2 weeks anyway ^^

Re : The Great Noz release!

There are some issues with some of those cards
- temporal paradox - reduces your stats not those of the opponent
- drowning - the second card effect doesn't work all the time
Also mastery can't copy some of them.

To be honest the update is really OP, lets hope that they will fix things up soon - there are many other decks that need focus - pirates, sap, - can't think when was the last time we saw something for merks

Re : The Great Noz release!

I think saps are ok for the meantime. The guilds that really need a great update are Pirates, Nehants and Mercs. Pirates have been neglected for the longest time. It seems like they are only releasing Pirate Cards for the sake of release. Nehants only have one good build the syphon while its other builds, limit and portal, are very situational at best. But they are the newest guild so that's understandable. Mercs only got one card on its last update (if you call that an update) the Fog Hydra. So maybe we just have to wait for their turn in the coming months and see if the power will be shifted on their side.

For the last time...Fog hydra was tacked onto the lightning beak release. The ONLY reason it was released was because it was the easter event prize card.

Oh, and that pet thing ups crystal storm damage....

Nah, you guys got it all wrong. In all games, the first character introduced are humans, then mutants, then forest creatures, then magical creatures, then pirates, then zombies or undead, then came the aliens and lastly the dinosaurs.

Don't you guys play World of Warcraft?

On the contrary, others would say I was a prophet. Don't forget, even Magic the Gathering already went this alien and dinosaur path (after introducing space pirates and undead zombies).

Did you even play Magic?  The last three are not aliens.  Keldon Marauders are from an an area on the plane Dominaria called Keld, and they're barbarians and berserkers.

Tattermunge Maniac is a goblin from Shadowmoor.....  Don't know where you got alien.

Vexing Shusher is.....  A goblin......  From Shadowmoor......

The closest thing to aliens Magic used were Eldrazi, which were just ever-living, infinitely powerful beings trapped in the Blind Eternities.

If you're going to reference a game, do it right.

Does Shadowmoor or Keld sounds like Earth to you? Just because there are goblins and marauders in other planes of existence other than Earth, does not make them any less extraterrestrial. Just look at the picture, even a blind man can smell that its aliens.

Where'd you get your definition of Alien?  Sci-Fi channel?

Belonging to a foreign country or nation.  That is the actual definition of an alien.  So in that right, yes, Keldons and Goblins are aliens.  Oh wait.....  Nothing from the Magic universe is from Earth........  So Magic is all aliens?  Alien dinosaurs, alien humans, alien spirits, alien elves.......

When you compare almost anything from the world of fantasy to Earth, it's probably alien.  That's a flawed comparison, though, because Earth doesn't exist in a lot of fantasy games and shows and such.  There's no such thing as Earth in the entire Magic multiverse.  You're taking everything out of context.

So now you're saying everything is alien. Geez, the players playing Magic the Gathering on Earth aren't aliens you know. =P

And no, not all fantasy characters are aliens. For example, middle earth (lord of the rings) is considered by many experts as China. You can even see some fragments of the Eye of Sauron during the night if you stare at the top of the tower in the Great Hall of the People.

Although some might say it was in Bahrain

I'm not saying everything is alien, you are.  According to you if it isn't native to Earth it's alien.  Therefore the elves of Llanowar, the Mirrans of Mirrodin, the spirits of Kamigawa, ETC, are all aliens.  And when did I ever say the players were aliens.  I'm starting to think you can't read.

Where did you read that?  Did you just base it off of that one tower that sort-of-kinda-maybe looks like the Eye of Sauron?  No.  The map of Middle Earth directly corresponds to Europe mostly.  The only part close to Asia would technically be Rhun.

No, in medieval times China is referred to as the middle earth. You can verify it here as one of the names of China:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_China 國/国 is translated to Middle Kingdom or Middle Earth.

Anyway, if they are not Earthlings then they are aliens. It's that simple. Also note the difference between magical creatures and aliens is that not all aliens knows magical arts (Starship Trooper insect-like aliens) while magical creatures can be earthlings (Harry Potter) as well as aliens (Avatar's body-mind transfer incantation).
