Name/IGN: Jamie_Spruill (I think)
Age: 29
Reason for applying: Organized play is always fun. I also have quite a bit of knowledge of TCG games, play pretty much everyday (although don't really care about always finishing achievements in a week, id rather just pay the 195 and get it at my leisure) I have a decent collection of cards, can make most decks, working on abom, shado, tele, combo atm as well as a quick draw deck, but I do play quite a few other decks... I am active and can easily be found in quite a few places.
Playstyle will differ with every player. Smash that iron destroys an item and as you said, lay bare removes the use of the items for 1 turn. If you are playing a mage I would play freeze over both, it goes back to their deck but it clears them completely. Depending on your play style and your deck archetype is going to be what defines which card you should use. Play what makes you happy... its your game to play as you want... not what others want.
As far as which I use... unless I am playing Noz, in which i use freeze, I don't play any of them... id rather fit more cards specific to the role of my deck. No deck will win all the time, so I don't personally target items using those cards.
my opinion on this is biased... but you have to agree that putting something like anathesize in the deck makes it a worthless card against many other decks... that could be an assassinate or another card used often. Yes the IHAS deck isn't rampant... but im sure it has a greater win percentage than lose percentage if played right..... I would have to agree on the limit... perhaps 5... +5 +5 for one card is pretty nice seeing assassinate as one fo the most played cards is only +3-+4 attack.
Except I have pumped prob at least $500+ into the game >.< So I am talking from a payers point of view.
I will put it this way.. the current leveling system... I am less likely to put more money into the game.. when I played ***bip*** I enjoyed their leveling system so Much I spent about 2,000 playing it.. when I played Warstorm... I put about 5,000 into it.. so. .. yeh...
I actually posted this idea in a post for better leveling... Except I requested a casual play room where no maxed characters were allowed... this would allow for players with lower level cards to compete without players having abom, tere, shadow all maxed and ready to eat you alive.
Something should really be done about leveling of the cards...
As I buy cards I want to level them...
In a normal match I can earn 2-4 EXP per card.
In a Training match I can earn 3-7 EXP per card.
So... wheres the bonus. I am level 14 now. So leveling cards in normal matches is absolutely horrendous. I go play and I have cards that are lvl 2 or below versus maxed level cards of people who are too scared to go play ELO matches.
Proposed solutions:
* Do not dictate how many training matches we can have a day.. Really? 5 matches? for what a whole like extra 5-10 exp? Let us play as many as we want in a day. Let normal matches be for trying out decks and earning crystals. Training should give large bonus to exp and 0 crystals. Normal matches much less exp but more crystals.
* Up the exp in training matches. Most I have earned that I have seen in a training match is 7. I believe I have actually earned 5 EXP in a normal match... so.. a whole extra 2 EXP for a training match.. what BS. Let training matches be just for that. We should be earning 10-20 EXP per match. It still takes 10-20 matches to level from level one to level two and still takes 30-50 matches to level three, etc etc.
* Make a normal room for non maxed cards, let's call it a CASUAL room. Right now I could care less about if I have a little sign (although I don't think I do) next to me saying I quit matches... I will continue to quit matches against full level decks when all I want is to get a couple of cards leveled. It isn't worth 10-15 minutes of my time to earn 2 exp per card... at least in a room of non maxed cards I would stand a chance of getting that elusive 4 exp.
*Fix it so we can only face the same opponent like 2x in one day... I mean seriously, I was in a training room and 3 of my matches against the same exact guy.. one where I saw him time out but the game didn't register it so I had to quit it. I don't want to see the same deck repeatedly. I want new decks.
*Stop making stupidly broken decks. Don't you guys have play testers like every other TCG out there?
-Items have a soul deck.. oh no its not overpowered to throw away a crap ton of items and play the same card 5 times in a row getting up to a 15 attack and 15 defense... nope not at all.
-Double attack. Who came up with this bright idea. Lets play a card that drops the opponents defense to 0 then allows me to attack 3 times? So lets add up the minimum attacks here.. 6x3... 18 dmg in a turn? I can't recall anyone that has 4 defense coming out of the gate (unless you are playing moria and eglantye or whatever her name is, and I guess that one Kob guy that looks like the fish from chrono trigger) allowing them to take a whole 16 damage (still most likely killing them) oh strike that they get -2 attack on the first attack hitting for 4 then 6 and 6.. so still 16 dmg off the bat which still kills most.
-When you look at it, when you build it around a caste they can get stupidly insane. Tracker decks giving all trackers +1 spirit +1 defense... Pack decks playing all their lovely cards to get massive amounts of damage and healing themselves to full in the same turn. Crow decks haven't caught on yet from what I have seen but I am sure they will soon enough to bypass the people that play heavy defense.
I am sure I could come up with 100 more things to balance the game a bit more, but I would be happy with being able to max a few more cards before ending up playing in a room with players that have full maxed decks. I have found items and actions/spells easy to level.. its the characters that are a pain. Thing is, it wouldn't even hurt the auction house much, it would just cause people to max more characters and sell them... which would in turn cause people to buy more cards... Personally I see it as a profitable situation.
