looks like Tsotsai are the answer to most Discard decks since most rely on attack lowering.  With spirit=0 and all the tricks they can do it seems that they are a great answer to all those who whine about Discard decks in general XD.  personally I think they need to add a few weapons just for Tsotsai.  after all they are Kotoba XD

Hmm, that might work.  I would like to try and keep the fans though for their ability.

What other cards should I add/remove though to make the deck more solid?

I played against a Sap Heart deck and they used Magic Poison which says that it deals Magic Damage and Furagu says all Kotoba Warriors heals 1 point when the take magic Damage.

I was dealt the magic damage by the card and didn't heal any from Furagu's power.  Is this a bug or intended?

dragon knights can be a budget deck and still be effective.  You just have to use some of the better budget cards and build a deck with them instead of the standard fair.  or he could spend a little money and buy the starter (i havent bought or looked at it in the marketplace to see what is in it yet.)

not every deck has to mirror every other of that type.  a little imagination and creativity can help come up with a budget deck that can compete quite well.

I am designing a Kotoba warriors deck for use in ELO tourneys.  I would like opinions and ideas on this deck if you would.

Asajiro

Furagu

Xin the Ironbringer

Imperial Armor x3
Tessen x3
The Bushido Code x3
The Emperors Speech x2
Fierce Lion x3
Anathemetize
Guardians Spear
Crown of the Border
It is time x3

The principle of the deck is to get each person with an Imperial armor, Xin and Furagu with an Emperors Speech and a Tessen each, Asajiro with the Guardians spear and to then get the code of bushido on each of them.  I have 3 Tessen in case one gets discarded.

It is a standard beat down deck.  I added 3 Fierce Lions in case of RoD's and hope that should I run into aoe spells the power of Furagu will overcome it.  The Anathemetize....is obvious.

I welcome all criticism.

if you want to try something on a budget try a Dragon Knight or Kotoba Warriors deck.  both are good and will be decently competetive.

#7 Re : Deck and Strategy » How strong can a Tracker deck get ? » 17-06-2011 23:01:22

i meant a pure mage tracker deck, or 2 mages with 1 guelemite.

#8 Re : Deck and Strategy » About the mages being overpowered... » 17-06-2011 22:59:11

discard and mages both are strong and overused "cookie cutter" decks.  But to be honest I don't fear discard (i use either Kotoba 0-1 spirit decks or my Pack marauder blitz deck) and Mages only scare me if my opening hand is weak.  since I mainline Animatize (not sure if I spelled that right) IHAS and most mage decks that get spells back or use spells in the graveyard dont scare me much.

I dont use counterspelling cards (i do have 1 fierce lion in my Kotoba Warriors deck) and if I die to mages then I can't complain since the option is there and I CHOSE not to use it.

I have tried my hand at trackers and see that they have potential to be high tier but currently are mid tier.  They need a few more cards to make them ELO winners but that will require them to add at least one more character card and a few tracker spells.  they have all the items they really need.  I wonder how tracker mage would look if they were to add that to the mix >.>

#10 Re : FAQs » can you delete cards? » 11-06-2011 11:35:08

wish they had a way to defuse cards.

I.E. The Shadow to get back the 3 cards that made her level 4 possible.

#11 Re : FAQs » Question bout unexchangable cards » 11-06-2011 11:25:42

wish i had known that before I combined a fireball I got in a pack with the one I got in the Noz Starter.  Now I am stuck with a card I will never use that I only made to sell so I could afford Ergue and Lunation

#12 Re : Deck and Strategy » Marauders - help » 03-06-2011 00:32:51

he can do more and can do less go great in the Desert Nomad decks where they have 0 def and decent attack.  but in this deck you are better off without that combo.

#13 Re : Deck and Strategy » The Deck Garage - Puzzle # 4 » 02-06-2011 23:34:24

Golemarlok
Eglantyne and Moira
Nut

Blade of the Witch x3
All is Fair in Love... x3
...And War x3
Life Devourer x3
Idol of Life x3
Unleash Hell x3
Rain of Fire x2

may not be the best deck idea but I like it XD

#14 Re : Deck and Strategy » Zil advice » 02-06-2011 10:11:28

i need to get time to die that will really help out my marauder decks.

#15 Re : Deck and Strategy » Zil advice » 02-06-2011 04:32:52

Hmm, you are right, 3 lunations would be better than 1, that still leaves me with 4 open slots, maybe Capture the Enemy, 1 steal and maybe either a dark heart stone with  counterspell or 2 up the ass

#16 Re : Deck and Strategy » About the mages being overpowered... » 02-06-2011 04:21:39

I see mage decks in the way I see Crow decks...powerful yet beatable.  They both can be deadly even against decent spirit decks yet as fearsome as they look they both fall very fast against a well prepared beat down deck.

You have to keep calm and be ready to sacrifice someone in order to get the killing blows in.

Bloodsword (marauder bonus)
Wild
Dark

Life Devourer x2
Assassination x2
All is fair x3
...Love and War x3
Fly off the Handle x3
Lunation x1
(wasn't in my origional post by mistake.)
I have several other cards in mind but I am not sure which ones will work best in a Pack Marauder deck.

Should I put some Bite and Up Your Ass in the deck like i first thought or should I go the Steal route?
